I plan to start an amazon affiliate journey but as each of my articles will probably be only 100-200 words in length I was wondering if Amazon affiliate bans associate for thin content?

Any answer, no matter the length or depth, is really appreciated!

I had issues with that, so I combined 3-4 pieces into one, which seemed to be okay. Running on 2 years now.
Thanks for the response
What was your wordcount for each article before you combined the articles together?

If your content is unique and well written, you're going to be safer than spun or cut&paste stuff.

Amazon will possibly review your site and if they don't like what they see will inform you.
In all honesty 100 words isn't enough to do a review on a product.

Thanks mate. I'm just really paranoid I might lose my account.

No worries, answered you in there and you'll be fine.

They can ban for absolutely anything they feel like. If they don't think you're a valuable asset to them, they can ban you and call it just about anything. They're incredibly vague.

They definitely favor "old" accounts over newbies. For instance, lots of "old" accounts got away with self-hosting ripped images while newbies were getting bans. But, once again, it comes down to rather Amazon sees your website as an asset, or just a way to shave off a % of a sale they were already making.

I would highly, highly suggest keeping your informational content to product review at a 5:1. I would also never write a product review shorter than 500 words. That's just my opinion of course. But if you're paranoid about getting a ban, don't risk having an obvious micro-affiliate website with crap reviews.

What does amazon affiliate do?

Amazon is a bastard they will ban you and never even explain why. Thin content is one reason if your site is not giving value to the user they have the right to ban you. If your site has a single pricetag on any product. Ban. If your site doesent have their disclosure. Ban. If your junk hangs to the left. Ban. As you can see it gets a little hard to follow all their terms, follow the basics and pray you didnt miss anything. Regardless if in the future your banned you can switch to cj

Damn

You had any experience getting banned for thin content?

Thanks for the help
I appreciate it like you wouldn't believe
Keep things simple. If you're concerned about being banned, then write longer, better content. Simple as that. Content is easy to write. If you want to build a sustainable business, then build it on a solid foundation.

Thank you! Can you still get amazon affiliates even if your blog is a free use domain such in wordpress?

Not sure to be honest but you could try, all that can happen is they review the site and accept or deny. You can come back later and try again with a diff site.

This is less the length of your product review page that matters than the overall site. If you have well-written content throughout your website but thin content on certain pages, it should not be a problem. If you are not sure, add a couple of hundred words on these pages.
