"Tracking protects both you and the buyer."
Yes, as stated above that's obvious. But that's not an answer to my question about buyers abusing the open case system.
If it's that obvious, why didn't you protect yourself by buying trackable shipping? Also it wouldn't probably help you if you knew the answer to the original question because if you cancel orders because the buyer had a history of filing claims, 3-4 of these a month will probably get you banned.
Pulling what on who? You make accusations without understanding. I said that I don't mind eating the losses myself if the dropshipper won't refund me.
I'm not accusing you of anything shady. I'm telling you that if I'm drop shipping for you I'd be apalled at your thought process. So you don't buy trackable shipping, which YOU KNOW some buyers will abuse to scam you out of an item, but you ask your dropshipper to make good your losses when it happens? What justification do you use to even ask the dropshipper to refund you for something YOU wanted shipped without tracking? I dropship for some websites and no one in 17 years I have been dropshipping have any of my customers made such a ridiculous request.
I don't think you know what Ebay "thinks". That's assuming a lot unless you got actual document proof to show that what you said is true, you are making a lot of assumptions. You don't work for Ebay.
I have been a keen observer of ebay since at least about 2003. I follow what they do. I go to the tradeshows and speak to their employees. I can't read their minds but I know how they act from their history. Always assume these things when dealing with eBay.
1. The buyer is a LOT more important than seller to eBay because eBay knows that sellers will always follow buyers
2. eBay does a LOT of data mining. As you said yourself
I wished there was a way ebay could also show buyers buying history (how many times they've opened cases, how many times they've received refunds, etc.). I don't understand why that wouldn't be MORE helpful than just feedbacks. Makes me scratch my head why the richest online website in the world can't even have simple features/options like this.
eBay spends a billion dollars in R&D a year. You are naive if you think eBay doesn't offer this function on their website because they don't know how helpful it would be to the sellers. The simple answer is they don't want you to know this information because eBay wants sellers to treat all buyers the same, even the high risk ones. This is why they will tell you if you call in and complain that losing an item once in while should be a cost of doing business on eBay.
So you are basically saying that Ebay is one giant legit scamming company.
How is it scam when they tell you flat out in their TOS that you are not covered under seller protection if you do not have trackable delivery?
Thank god you don't run a company, else you'd probably be in jail by now for running all kinds of illegal scams.
Well, I DO run a company, and I'm still here, ain't I?
