Copy & Paste Articles From Other Websites

What exactly is going to happen to me if I copy and paste to my website articles I find on the Internet?

I am not really concerned about being penalized by Google as most of my traffic is either viral or paid.

Can I keep it on my site until somebody submits a removal notice without being fined or legally penalize in any way?

Yes, they can. Is it worth their time? Most often not, and instead they take the initial route of filing a DMCA takedown request...or complain to your hosting provider or domain provider. However, they CAN directly sue if they wanted to, it is just a less likely scenario.

Either way I'm not advocating for using copied content. I get pissed when I pay $60+ for an article only to have it ripped by randoms across the internet. And it is copyright infringement, which is illegal.

Basically, she sent me a letter stating that I owed a few hundred bucks for using her content on my website. The thing is that I received that piece of content from one of the PR agencies that I work with all the time. I tried to explain it to her, but she didn't care. She was insisting on the payment and threatened to sue me. She was completely unreasonable and even after I took it down she still demanded a compensation.

I think that in the end PR agency ended up paying her off, but it was a pretty stressful experience...

It's unlikely someone would actually follow through and sue for a couple hundred bucks. Especially if you acted in good faith and removed the content when asked.

To answer your initial question: yes, someone could actually sue you without warning but it's extremely unlikely. They will send you a cease and desist letter and then DMCA.

If you're in the USA you might go with DMCA ignored offshore hosting and maybe even an offshore registrar. However, if it's an ecommerce site the people who want to know who you are would just need to make a purchase and check their credit card statement.

Personally I think you will be fine. There are monetized websites that repost content all the time and they just attribute the article to it's original source. Not saying this is the right thing to do, just that you are very unlikely to actually be sued.

Here's a little secret I'll tell you on how you can copy/paste whole articles and not get flagged by google or the owners. So what you do is find an article in another language and copy it and then put it though an online translator and give it a quick proof read to make sure it makes sense and then publish it. Google won't know and the site owner won't give a shit. Cheers

I use them on quota answers, forum posts, and pumper sites. I post half of the article on quota/forums and tell them to visit my site to read the whole thing and then promote them clickbank products.

I have no problem with post from other site because most of the article I use are not in english and are from expired domain such article are not used on the site am spending $$$ on am just using them for building backlink.
So for me i don't give a fuck for such article.

If your site isn't popular/indexed on Google or if you're lucky, nothing will happen and you won't get caught.
But, it's too risky. Your choice, however!

As far as I know Google does nothing about copied. Simply you can't rank higher than the original site(Besides some times)

Yes you can be flagged. You can know the quality of your content by using a an SEO tool like Plagiarism checker.

Basically you will be penalized by Google. generally, write content yourself or just use paraphrasing.
