My First $2000 Online!!

Guys,

I just want to have a piece of advice, as mentioned in my first post, i am planning to have membership site on domain business. I have the "first time content" in my mind however, i am confused about the new content every month like what i can provide to my site's members every month regarding domains...any idea?

lmao what you gon write about? how to make misleading auctions on ebay?

Hey izm, this is not mislead auction, i want to ask you that did you ever bid for $2k after clearly reading the auction listing but later you found it mislead..If yes, then either you are blind or you cannot read properly. If you check my listing page again then note:-

Item Title:- 2 YEARS OLD SEARCHMATRIMONIAL .COM DOMAIN NAME NR 3 4 5

Al rite i guess you didn't read it...

Then next..

on description page the FIRST sentence is:

SearchMatrimonial.com

But you got mislead again...

going further:-

Second sentence on left hand side:

SearchMatrimonial.com

But of course you got mislead again, can't read it..no probes:

Scroll down the page

In BIG red color Bold 36px MS Word font, it's written

www.SearchMatrimonial.com

But i assume you still ignore it:

Not below that in second line it's written:

SearchMatrimonial.com

But you still mislead...

Conclusion:- Even after mentioning everything so clearly for 'n' number of time in big fonts, you can get misled and bid over $2k with the total of 124 bids, then you DESERVES to get mislead....

Thanks.

"search" is a dictionary word too... i say more popular than Matromonial.. why arent we making the big deal out of that one huh?

Dictionary domains are typically one word domains that can be found in the dictionary. If you had search.com then you'd have one hell of a dictionary domain, but that is a little more than just a dictionary word. I was under the impression the name was 'Matrimonial', not 'Searchmatrimonial'.

Obviously there are words in the dictionary that would be of no worth at all, but some resellers see these as valuable even if the name doesn't have actual business relevance. I have thrown in the towel on "collecting" domains(not saying i don't have a few jewels stowed away), but I never make a lot of $ that way, if anything i drop catch good names for business use and the occasional quick flip if i get the opportunity.

Anyway, carsonrathi, what would differentiate your 'membership' site from all the other great domain forums out there that are free? If you are having any doubts about what you can continuously offer people, i don't really think you are in the position to open a membership website.

Dude... How in the hell are you going to create a successful membership site about selling domains on eBay when your auction is so misleading? The image you used CLEARLY says Matrimonial.com and even here on the forum when you mention the domain, you show it to us as Search Matrimonial.com instead of WHAT IT IS: SearchMatrimonial.com.

I too sell domains every week on Sedo and while your domain isn't 100% terrible, trust me when I tell you that you're very very lucky to have sold that domain for so much.

Additionally, I have sold domains on eBay and from my own experience, buyers/bidders are a lot less knowledgeable there than on Sedo i.e., you can definitely sell domains faster and for more money on eBay.

But back to your membership site... Based on what you've shared here and simply from reading your auction over, I have to wonder what you REALLY have to share.

Congrats on the $2K though... LOL.

No offense...

That's the reason i didn't opened it yet. I am collecting different information regarding domain business from where ever i can. I am not in hurry, ill try having max information then only i will go further.

Carson, here's my advice. Go join Namepros dot com, join DNForum dot com and learn from these great communities, there are others but these 2 are pretty good.

Thanks Portillo, ill definitely join them

you wrote - my domain name "Search Matrimonial.com" & i thought who would pay for that? then i looked at the pic and thought - damn, that is a good name. why not a pic of searchmatrimonial.com? misleading YES!

Hey Carsonrathi, congratulations on the sale. That is a milestone! Thanks for sharing your accomplishment.

hi,

I've got a domain called nursingcollegeonline.com what do you reckon it's worth? I really have no idea. If I were to try and sell it, where would you recommend? I really appreciate any advice. I'm here to learn!

Cheers,
Yoaussie

hahaa he's indian? makes sense now... no offense to indians... but sometimes thats how they be...

Mr.IZM, you do not have any right to comment on Indians in negative way. If you want to say anything to me personally that's fine. But pointing out any country or people is i think really not fair to any one of us here.

worldskycat Thanks, i am sure i can do much better next time..

Duddle, yes it's quite big amount here almost Rs.1,00,000 Can do lods of thing with this...

Yeah i guess so, most people i met did earn 20-50 bucks a month...I remember when my airplane did land in new-delhi in the middle in the night and i had to exchange money, was a 100$ note. I never ever did exchange that much, since i got so many notes i felt i rob a bank lol. Yeah lots of problems and poor people in India really shocking :(. But the people who has the income to get a pc to work can make really serious cash online i guess, since i.e. here in europe you even cant buy a ice scoop or Pretzel for 1$ but in India its a lot more worth, depends of course of your lifestyle i saw also lots of rich people in the main cities.

That's correct Duddle, almost 50% people are below the poverty line. India have resources but unfortunately few very corrupted politicians here. But yes, everything is improving at rapid speed and i am sure that within few years it can achieve that "Developed" status.
