seen some weird ranking drop for some keywords around 23-24th june,anyone facing the same problem? lost around 20-30% traffic due to that.

one of my site was getting around 4k UV per day on average this month but on last week ranking for some Big KWS dropped(without any valid reason) from top 5 to 15-25 & lost around 20-30% traffic due to that...racking my brain to find a cause due to that.

even though the drop was not Huge enough to suspect any penalty, but enough to have an impact on the site average income.

I was hit hard by Fred and so diluted anchor links and added more content and over the last week I have seen improvements. Not sure if it just the sites maturing as they were only a few months old or the changes I have made but some definite gains.
Nothing compared to what @webmasterbd was getting though. Still very small.

Unfortunately I don't think there is much that can be done with Google Fred. I have 4 websites that were hit by Google Fred. One of them I made a ton of changes on after Fred, another I made quite a few changes, one I made a couple small changes and the fourth I changed nothing. All of them suddenly and without any warning returned, more or less, to their pre-Fred levels. 3 of them actually returned the same day, with the fourth following about a week later.

This is a fascinating thread! Been reading through everything and it's so awesome everyone can come together to share their experiences. I imagine some SEO companies were looking like fools to their clients.

I made the changes well over a month ago, not sure if it is anything I did which pulled it back or just adjustments on the algo but it has taken a good while to sort itself out. Personally I find that any changes made take weeks to see negative/positive impact.

What did you do to dilute anchor links? Did you just add more links or did you actually change some? I have had success by adding text and lowering KW density but some sites have mostly the same anchor text and need to lower that.

I purchased one of the link diversity packages on BHW and on some pages added a bit more content. I also massively reduced on-page keyword density for target keyword to the point where there was only a couple in 1000 words of text - Title + H1 + in first paragraph.
I was guessing based on what others had said and until recently I thought it had had no effect as it had been so long since the changes and links. So either it worked (eventually) or Google made another change which it likes on my sites. I honestly do not know which.
All of my content is 1000 word minimum, 50+ pages and although there are affiliate links has no other advertising. So, I could not really work out why Fred had such an impact for me in the first place. But it did.

Sounds like exactly what I did aside from the link diversity package. Which seller did you use? I will give one a try.
I've got something really odd going on - I think it might be someone somehow attacking the rankings, or the changeover from the old webmaster maybe.
Basically I've taken over the managing of a website for a client - the site is rock solid and stable for it's rankings except for 1 (the main) keyword.
He's been on page 1 forever, suddenly for this 1 keyword he's dropped and dropped and dropped and is now on page 10.
I've racked my brains and tried everything I can think of and it makes no difference at all.
I'm not into hurting peoples rankings - is it possible for someone to hammer him for 1 keyword? There's no links appearing etc so it isn't being blasted.
Only thing I can see is 2 url redirects of domains the client owns are 302 redirects rather than 301s, and they are this keyword.net, and keyword.org.
Could 302 redirects cause any issues?

I have lost a few keyword rankings as well in the last few weeks. Something like 10-15%.

My sites are 2 months old and dancing is finally starting to settle down. The first month i had all kinds of weird stuff like the plurals of the keyword would be rank 15 and singular would be rank 80. Now they are all syncing up in the top ten..
Some keyword trackers offer hourly and some do daily or weekly. I think i would go for the daily one over hourly

I meant they are only age 2 months old. I think dancing is natural in the beginning. So they are younger than Fred
