What It's like living in Pakistan? [Answer]

I really really really don't want to start this buddy, but by this definition, you can eat beef or you'll get lynched the fuck out of you (no offense to you). By that definition, Every Women gets raped in India? These are are shallow things to say and be said upon. Look broader.

I've said above that these thing unfortunately happens sometimes here, but it's not people cheer to it or approve of it. It's a work in progress.

I repeat the same search and this comes. Weird I guess. I've said above that there are good parts and bad part of every country. I'm sure People aren't lining up to go vacation in Detroit, no ?

What are you talking about man I like beef. esp Carl's Jr grass fed beef. I got friends in Pakistan man why are you going hostile? Rape is a crime but nobody gets stoned over here for being bf gf, in front of a courthouse.

Exactly! You like Beef. That video was you posted, I got the feeling that you were generalizing and thinking that we all cheer for such stuff here. That is not the case. I too have friends in India (Hyderabad and Punjab (You know him.) ). I don't dislike Indians but stuff like this does it for me. Because people always try to assume that we're some sort of barbaric people who love that sort of cruelty.

I have no hostility towards you, heck I like you from your old journey thread. So, no hate, mate (that rhymes, lol)

Cheers

When you talk about minority of people containing extremist views, what kinda percentage are we talking? 0.1%? or like 5%?

Just out of interest as in the U.K. there is a lot of different opinions on people coming from Islamic states.

Also, is there still a cast style system in Pakistan? or is that just india?

1.There's extremism in every religion but since people of other belief are in such low %, their effect isn't felt that much.
2. Sadly, yes. Like, not very extreme, people of other cast mostly get along fine, everything happens fine. However, sometimes clashes do happen.

Eid Mubarak

You either live a very sheltered life or are trying to undermine the radicalization of the masses of the people in Pakistan. Gender laws are far from perfect. And don't tell me you can approach women on the street for a date lol. You gonna get your ass killed.

Also, you have to agree there are more human rights violations at any given moment in Pakistan than there are in India. We all have our vices.

I am only saying this because you are raising the beef issues again and again. Do you know many states have passed a resolution that protects their right to eat what they like? A lot of them. Would you think Pakistani masses would tolerate a political party doing this if bacon was in question? Guess not. So before saying what's wrong with your neighbor, it would serve you right to call things by their name.

Political parties like Congress and Communist Part of India openly cooked beef and shared with people in defiance to the said law.

Bro for me, forcing a woman to wear a burqa is radicalization. No one likes to wear black clothing from head to toe in 40celsius temperature.

And that sort of backward thinking is surely not in the low %ages.

You seem like a pretty pro-national guy (Nothing wrong in that) But I believe that you're the kind of person that's willing to have a long and hard debate, and I do love to have it, clear out the fact from fiction but unfortunately, time isn't the luxury I have that much these day and besides, your accusations are somewhat extreme at points, I just want to keep this thread informational. You're an Indian and we both know the ground realities of each other countries. This thread is more for people who're from outside of Asia.
I will not reply to your question at this time but if the time decides to be little soft on me :) I'll surely do that.

Cheers

With 1k$ monthly you could live in eastern europe a middle life, and also you could live in Romania where you have lots of things to visit, lots of mountains, also black sea. 1k$ monthly you can have a good life here

I may have exaggerated a bit.

To put thing in perspective. If you're earning $500. A family of 4 (parents, 2kids,) can afford to have 2 bed appartment (rent), school, food and basic luxuries.

I don't deny all religions containing extremist members, I was just wondering how prominent it was in Pakistan. Do you think Pakistan could ever be up to par on some western countries for social progress? i.e gay marriage, equal gender rights, marry outside of religion (or cast), human rights violations (obviously I understand this doesn't happen in just Pakistan)

EDIT: I also have an Indian partner (i'm white), so i've seen these prejudices for myself when meeting her parents etc. Don't think i'm just bashing on your country/culture

1. For Social progress, it's possible but it's gonna take a lot of healing and time before this happens
2. I don't think Gay marriages are gonna be here for atleast 40 - 50 more years.
3. Equal gender rights are in order. Lot of work is being done and a lot of progress have been. Far from perfect but we're getting there. I wanna clear that some easy misconceptions
a) Girls do go to School, Colleges, etc, On their own
b) They do jobs, and recently, a surge in starting businesses as well
c) Drive cars and Scotties are slowly gaining traction (They're extremely in India)
4. Marrying outside of religion is done but if it's done with consent of family, then the non-muslim in majority of the cases converts first
5. Human right violation is a problem here. There's a lot of governmental corruption, which leads to inadequate federal branches, bad law enforcement and so on. Hopefully it would be better in coming years.

Cheers to you too mate.
I'm not a pro-nationalist though. I find the whole idea of belonging to a man made country pretty dumb.

For me, all of us suck :P
