This an extension to my answer for worgenprise there are tons of confidential reports that probably we don't know or mainly did not properly reported , billion dollar theft from European banks and viruses on millions of computer systems across china, russia, Iran, India to name a few countries, some good language programming against cyber-attacks that i know and based from my experience and my team of expert web developers : python, bash and C are the best- Python is a multi tasking allround Scripting language

I would say Bash for Linux.
With bash you can automate many command lines for Linux.

As @dreadpixel said, Bash scripting is a definite first choice that would come to mind.. Python and Php I'd suggest as next in the line, a good base in bash and python would be a nice start when it comes to pentesting itself. Keep up the interest, and keep learning cyber security is a very intriguing element right now and will continue to grow in demand. I personally like to focus on some specifics but keep up with a variety of different things in micro amounts along side. Maybe overload for some, but never the less that's my 2cents.

You pretty much need to be expert in whatever you want to hack/protect. It usually goes down to exploiting system vulnerablities, so f.e. if you want to hack some simple webserver you should know php/apache/mysql etc so you can use bugs in them.
