Current state of follow/unfollow

I've stopped follow/unfollow about 1.5 months ago due to a drop in engagement, way before instagress and massplanner were shut down.

It got to the point also where I was manually following maybe 60-80 per hour with maybe 5 following back and often times up to 12 hours later (from good target sources). This is as opposed to 60-80 follows per hour with up to 20 following me back within the hour.

Is anyone still (particularly manually) following/unfollowing with success and no negative repercussions for their actions?

I started new account 3 days ago and now have 350 followers doing follow/unfollow manually. I dont know if thats too good progress but atleast its working. But my other big account has very low engeament and one of the reasons to this is f/unf i think. Sh*t i need some new methods to grow manually

If you follow manually you can follow mer than 60/hour. Sometimes I follow more than 200 in one rush.

It seems to me that there are certain days of the week where engagement is higher than others. My account seems to grow really fast for a couple of days and then goes back and slows to a crawl for another couple of days.

Is that normal? What would you guys say?

That's my impression as well! if you got your Instagram linked to a Facebook Business Page, you can check in which days YOUR followers are more active

My account is aged a few years, I follow about 500 a day, and even with that I get nervous.

Mix following with engagement and you'll be fine.
