Thanks man! I plan on enhancing a set of images for my site, but these are straight from Photos unedited. I like to keep a copy of the originals for myself, so when the wife and I look back it's how it really was.

I wish I would have thought to grab a better zoom lens.

Did you see Eyjafjallajökull ?

We did! We didn't drive up to it or anything, but the glacier/volcano were visible from a distance.

Camera: Nikon D3300. Lens: 18mm-55mm.

When we landed it was snowing at Keflavik and there was snow all over for the first hour of our drive. The first few days were in the 40s and very windy/rainy. After those days the mornings were foggy and windy and colder, and the afternoons were warmer and sunny, then the evenings were foggy.

The food was alright. I wasn't super impressed by anything. Lots of burgers and pizzas. I had reindeer burger, some delicious fish soup, and a lot of Skyr and Skyr cake!

What a coincidence, I just got back from an 8 minutes trip to Iceland myself. It was definitely one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I strapped my Gear VR to my face and arrived in Iceland at 5:51 PM.

The first stop was Geysir Hot Springs. I'm on top of the world!

Next stop was Blue Lagoon... I think. It may have been called something else, but I'm not sure.

I didn't really catch the name of this place.

Here I am at some cafe! I don't know those people. Why are they waving at me!?

This was near a volcano.

Then there was that time I got lost in space briefly. That was fun!

I made a wrong turn and went into a supermassive black hole. Turns out Interstellar was right about the bookcase thing.

I reappeared here near that Seljalandsfoss waterfall a few minutes later. How beautiful!

All in all, an amazing trip. I'm surprised we didn't pass each other along the way!

No, but really, those are some nice pictures of your trip @Sherbert Hoover. It looks like it was a fun adventure.

It's close. MK is our next vacation destination. Looks dreamy. And they have their own Blue Lagoon!

Very nice @Sherbert Hoover bit too much traveling for my liking on a holiday. I like to give my legs a rest when I go somewhere but I don't get to see all those sights that you did either.

Maybe I should get out more on my next break.

It was well worth it! We have done the relaxation trips to all-inclusives in Jamaica before and to the beach. We are moving to the beach next month, so we wanted to do something that was the opposite of that. Last year was San Francisco/Seattle, so we figured let's so something natural. I am so glad we went.

Highly suggested. Beware, though, a lot of people stay in Reykjavik and do day trips down to Vik all the way to Glacier Lagoon, then the Golden Circle. It wasn't until we drove past Glacier Lagoon and experienced Eastern and Northern Iceland that we had a lot of solitude.

That is one of the unlikeliest locations I must have heard from someone I know, but glad you visited Iceland as all I thought was Iceland being a country covered by snow everytime. Seems like you really had a blast!

Tourism in Iceland is exploding. Buses everywhere a lot of places. We got lucky almost every place we went and got there before a wave of Asian tour buses arrived.

Nice! It was definitely one of my favorite places while there. Akureyri was surprisingly underrated as well. Impressive town.

Best hot dog stand in the world! We went there twice while we were in Reykjavik. It's surrounded by construction area currently but the lines were still insane.

On Saturday Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy Douglas Super DC-3 airplane was forced to land on Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach in the south of Iceland after experiencing some severe icing. Luckily all crew members survived the crash, but the airplane’s fuselage was abandoned. Now it’s become a photography dream location.

Hi @Sherbert Hoover, its really coincidence, that you and @Zwielicht were here at same time, as me, and you were pretty close to me. I know some place, you show us here, but many of them I plan to visit, thanks for inspiration. Iceland is pretty cool for me, even if I live in "most boring" part of it - very close to Selfoss (so I must drive at least an hour, to see something interisting). If you guys (or anybody else from BHW) come back to Iceland and have a trip near to Selfoss, we can meet in Vatnsholt. Its a little farm, when I am working as housekeeper (so I can start my own cleaning company in the future ) and at nights I take care of my little PBN. Here it is (imho) only opportunity to see and pet arctic fox and I can show you our ravens, which are pretty funny (people just love to feed them). I have websites only in czech language, but I think, we can share some tips, which works for both of us

Highly suggested! I'm generally a beach guy as well, but we are moving close to the beach soon so wanted something a little different. There's plenty of "beaches" in Iceland, but not the warm, sunny, get-in-the-water beaches.

I'll let you know! I'd love to hear a thread from you about your experiences. We drove through Selfoss on our way to Vik on the first day. Looks like a bustling little area compared to most of the places we passed through in Southern/Eastern Iceland.

I preferred the Myvatn Nature Baths to the Blue Lagoon personally. While the Blue Lagoon came with more perks (two face masks, towel, robe, slippers, free drink, etc), the one in Myvatn was far less crowded and less than half the price. The view was much better as well.

Thanks! It is indeed. Just an entry level DSLR that's a few years old (Canon 600D), Tokina 11-16 2.8 lens and a Manfrotto tripod!
