Thats a heck of the idea. Just go near the busy places and do it.
I am thinking about giving permenet free connection to shops in main market. That will have some investment in the beginning.. but that will might make some fixed revenue. As the guys in those bisy shops , that we can make some bucks rven after giving free internet.

that is a good method. It wasn't viable until mobile internet data packages prices went down. I saw even some providers inject ads to webpages or replaces existing ads' ids with their own ids. It is usually done with hotel networks. I don't think it is illegal since there is usually big terms at the beginning which states that you agree all sh*t by using their wifi.

Great Idea!
Shouldn't be too complicated to create multiple preconfigured raspberry pi to do the job. Use a battery pack or just plug into a power supply in some restaurant or shop. Easy to hide and if some of them get lost, that's no big deal since raspberries are cheap. Just buy them in bulk and distribute them all over the town.
If you've done this for a few days, you can resell the raspberries on eBay or move to another town.
I think I will build a prototype today right after work ...

I tried this long time back, it works brilliant at a huge mull in uk .

You design a members webpage to get there email adresss .

You can buy everthink from ebay cost hardly nothink best antenna is yoga .

Your even get a broadcasting app , and you can use a old laptop .

Best done in a car as said .

Nice idea. But I am doubtful that a lot of people would connect, at least in my country. 4G/3G is unlimited (paid monthly with the phone subscription), there is no point at all to connect to the wireless network of a shop. Where the OP is living?

This would be my question too.

In terms of Adsense, this would be a massive red flag and you would never mention to them how you generate your traffic.

For IKEA, it might be more explanable: when you intend to buy a big stuff you are looking on the internet to compare. In electronic shops also, a lot of people of their smartphone to read online comments about computers and so on.

Ah yes you are right! Focusing on tourist areas might give an excellent ROI.

Love the idea, there are so many parks in London that are absolutely rammed in the summer. Add a 4g Sim. Very tempted to jump on board this idea.

Local parks are flooded with international students in the city where I live, especially when there is nice weather.
Summer is around the corner and I know a friend of mine who is pretty knowledgeable with things like this.

Skyping with him right now, we're giving it a try in June. Splitting costs and potential profits. Wish us luck!
