Decreased Engagement

Hey! I have an instagram meme account same name as my Black Hat World username which has 34.6k followers. I started about 3-4 months ago and haven't used any methods to increase my following/likes (like buying followers and likes or following then unfollowing) apart from posting pics that hits the explore page a lot of times.
A few weeks ago my instagram was growing a crazy amount (about 1.5k followers a day and at least 10k likes with some pics hitting 100k likes) however, a few days ago that all stopped and my following decreased dramatically (about 100-200 followers a day) and my likes also decreased dramatically (1000-2000 likes some even getting only 300-500 likes). I have had moments where this happened but it was never this extreme and would usually get sorted after a few days.

I was just wondering what the problem could be and will it ever go back to normal?

Please note my followers are real (I know many people are shocked by the number of likes I get compared to my number of followers and have been accused of buying etc).

You got 64k likes on yesterday's post, I wouldn't mind getting less engagement on few others with that
Plus 34.7k is not that huge, 1000-2000 likes is not ideal but still decent engagement rate

34k and not getting above 1k likes? thats a dead acc lol. im at 38k and hit 3.7k to 4.6k likes

I do get quite a lot of likes, most the time it is over 2k but it has just drastically decreased quite annoying haha

yh true. I didn't get over 1k likes for 3 posts but I deleted them. I do on average get 7-9k likes and do get over 50k likes for some posts but the amount of likes that I usually got before has decreased quite a bit and also the number of followers I get. Even though I hit explore a lot of the times my following doesn't increase as much as it did before when I hit the explore page

I sometimes wonder why...

Why do people that borrow posts, assume that their posts will get higher engagement then the original...that posted maybe up to 30 days ago.
Why don't they just post original HQ content. I guess, I'm just asking too much... I sometimes wonder why.
