Is it a good idea to tell your client you just started out your business (although much experience with own sites) when offering a client the gift of your SEO services?

This would be something you'd have to decide on case by case basis. Don't lie, but don't say "oops, sorry you are my first client".

Never tell your first few clients that they are your first few unless they ask (which they won't if you handle yourself and your business well)! Everyone wants to deal with a business that has experience but nobody wants to take the risk of being the one to give the business that experience. On top of that, your inexperience will not only make you look incompetent, but it will make them think they can take advantage of you by haggling or scamming you (yes, clients can scam).

Don't do that. You want to give the illusion that you know what you're doing.

This is doubly important if you're a surgeon.

Thanks for the comments and thanks Treeofl1 for being the first person on BHW to make me laugh :D

Zwielicht is right, clients really scam with you! They did with me when I started my new business and by mistakenly I told them I am a new Programmer :D Be aware lol.

thats like telling someone to buy pizza at a brand new mom and pop instead of dominos. So yea not a good idea haha

why wold you volunteer that information. i would answer honestly if asked but wouldn't volunteer that.

Stay as honest as possible.
I have just told some of my (hopefully) future business partners that I am brand new online.

If you can present them with legit info on your operation, etc... I don't see a problem of telling the truth. Besides, you owe it to your clients to be honest - no need to degrade yourself though.
