wordpress nichesites

I'm looking for a program or site that explains hot to make simple niche sites with wordpress. I don't mind buying it as long as it's not monthly. (ie Wordpress Goldmine.) I've been using Squidoo... well now I can afford to go it on my own domains. Thanks for any help given.:)
