Hi all. My name is Kuro. I've been lurking here for the last couple of years, but now have finally registered.
Why? Well, the tl;dr is that I recently lost my dad to cancer but not before putting myself into near bankruptcy level debt paying for his treatments. I now need to supplement my salary so that I can service the debts, educate my younger sisters, and take care of my family.
Been watching dozens of YouTube videos on side hustles and whatnot, but they seem too good to be true - and based on what I'm reading here, they probably are.
My skill sets are in branding and marketing, with a focus on copywriting and strategy - have spent over a decade in this field. I'm also a published academic author. In my free time, I'm a Dungeon Master - the kind that runs nerdy Dungeons & Dragons sessions, not the kind with whips and leather restraints in a secret basement.
I was originally coming here to learn about how I can make a kickass, monetized YT channel in a couple days and make tons of extra income from that. But after reading through the forums, don't think that will be anywhere near as easy as it was made out to be. So now my purpose is to learn, and hopefully, identify a way I can start earning any small amount of extra income quickly. Ultimately though, I would like to build a sustainable source of extra income, especially one that pays in USD as that would make a huge difference to my family.
