Zuck said AI killed coding

Bare in mind this is the same guy that called people 'dumb fucks' for believing and trusting a word of what he said. I don't care what anyone says, if shit goes sideways taking these kinds of opinions and advice at face value, it is the ordinary guys that will bare the brunt of it, not people like mark fuckin zuckerberg.

I still don't think so, because even if makes coding easy and a lot you still need people with knowledge to deploy it to check everything work fine, QA, is not like jsust copy and paste, if you hire someone for $300 yeah you are saving a lot of money and is only to generate code using AI but how this person will know where the code is and paste the generated? what if doesn't have experience or idea about process of quality, does this person know how to do daily backups of the servers? does this person know how to restore the servers in case something goes wrong in the deployment,.

Is not only coding create copy and paste there is more work in the background, coding is just one part of a team of different developers that work together, the only difference is that instead of 10 developers you might have 8 or 7 but still depends in the growing of the bussines and if they think to expand means developers will have a extra load of work, to reach a point where only the AI can do this is way far in the future still you need someone with knowledge to generate the correct code I mean I can go on an on telling you why this won't happen at least in the next 40 years but this is my point of view and tech is moving so fast that can slap me in a reality check in a few year from now on.
 
Never ever believe a single word coming out of Zuck's mouth. He often lies to serve his own interests and he is also capable of some very bad judgments (see the metaverse :P )
 
Another year, another AI hype train is loaded and ready to go. For 2025 is AI agents and engineers.

There will be a time when your bot will stop working for a reason or another and AI can't help you to debug it keep in mind that we will charge 900$ then

One creates basically a whole functioning app from a prompt and keep refining it trough a chat.

I have a few production apps running without any issues, (Although i did spend a couple evening shouting at the AI to fix bugs)

Altough MoonStarz has valid challenges, But in my experience even human developers mostly rely aswell on the product owner to write the right feature story to cover all risks.
The PO and thus the prompter should know what to prompt and ask for and does his QA.

Now maybe yes, but im sure with time this will be solved as well. AI is constantly learning and technology is improving, imagine when they add quantum chip into AI, think we can't' comprehend much. It's like internet in 2001
 
Well Zuck just killed Instagram. They pushed an update the other day and it is terrible. The profiles look so much worse. Have you guys seen that yet? Literally aids

Yes probably, but very minimal, gap would so closed that anyone without skills could put pieces together, think we are not even close to understand what's going to happen.
 
since most people aren't going to spend hours learning how to write a prompt there will always be a need for the coders.
 
Things started to get interesting and scary also, some people say they already started to lose their jobs. We will see what happens in this year.
 
Zuck is spreading BS, AI can write simple code (while doing simple bugs), good luck with doing anything really complicated.
