Hi all,
maybe someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong, because it looks like I can't get it myself.
I've been testing many tips from this forum on how to get loads of backlinks, but only the stuff the looked valid and recent, and most important, only the stuff i could understand (or i thought so :D).

i tried it on 2 different websites:
first one is a new domain for some very common keywords.
wordpress, little content but seo friendly struct with suggested plugins. I spammed this on directories, with backlinks scripts, collecting and pinging directories .txt i got from threads, and following many "10 backlinks in 2 mins" tutorials... been doing this for a week, and the result is i got ONE backlink (out of supposed 30k). Kinda disappointing when i read elsewhere posts like "i got first page in 3 days" ecc.

Second website is a mediocre html+blogger site 5 years old with pr2 for a niche keyword.
i tried to go much slower on this, and tried mostly for quality backlinks. so, beside a little scripting, it was all about manual submissions to high pr directories, posting on same niche forums, and writing articles. The Result is even worst, cause i got ZERO backlinks.

Now, maybe i didnt get something very important in all the process, or maybe my seo tools are broken. Can anyone point me to some detailed guide or thought methods to start off as a newbie? i didnt manage to find anything really "step-by-step", most of the experts say its easy and we should just grab - submit - ping and that's all, but that's a little confusing at the start, and I cant realize where exactly i fudge up.

ps: when i look at the backlink created on directories and forums, they are all there... still google and yahoo dont care about the urls they post to... i tried pinging mostly with ping ler and pingo matic, still they behave like they dont exist.

Any comment is appreciated,
ty guys!!

Its not uncommon for it to take a couple of weeks for backlinks to turn up.

Try bookmarking them, and dont ping them more than once imo, if you ping spam you just asking for them to be ignored.

as long the backlinks are caught by google it should be fine and it takes time too.

so i should just wait? ok, tnx guys.
i still dont get why several people claim to have been backlinked extrafast.

i never tried bookmarking yet, are there any tool to automate it?

Google is never going to show but a very small percentage of your backlinks. They do this on purpose and have said so. Yahoo will show a lot more but a week is not really very long, it may well take longer than that.

Instead of using the link: search try searching for something unique in your backlinks such as the username you used or maybe a phrase in your descriptions or articles. Generally speaking when I am building links I try to use something that I can search for so that I can check on them that way to see if they are indexed. You get a much more accurate picture of what has actually been indexed that way.

Other than directories what types of links have you been building? I personally have not found directory links all that effective, there are a lot of them and there are automation tools to make them easy to do but I never had had much luck with the being all that helpful. Bookmarking your links can help as suggested earlier, it can be worth doing.

In my experience some backlinks can take weeks or even months to be crawled naturally by Google.

I use BIE, I believe that you can find it in the download section. Not sure what version though, if it is 4 it will not do you any good unless you already have a ping account with an api key setup already. If it is version 5 I would give it a shot, I have found that it works fairly well. You do need to set it up on a server, it does not run from a desktop.

some times it takes more then few days to get links indexed so wait for them and keep making links with variations in anchor text and URLS where you are pointing them to avoid any penalty of going too fast... Consistency is very important at this stage...

BTW content is also important so give some time to it also...

I've got 60+ backlinks on a new domain with help from Scrapebox. I really think it's the best purchase I've made over a computer in a long time I'm actually seeing $$$ slowly roll in too.

dont trust mass linking tools , it may hurt your rankings in near future
