zennoposter vs ubot

Zonno is way better just be sure you are technically inclined as it has a huge learning curve.

Zennoposter is the winner but it's because some rather advanced user with high demands on the level of things it can do. As already been said above, Zennopsoter has a steep learning curve whereas you can start coding with Ubot just in few days.

I know this is an old thread, but I had meant to post here a while ago and didn't get to it. Busy updating UBot.

If anyone has any questions about UBot Studio, ask me. We have thousands of successful customers, a huge chunk who are continuous subscribers. We offer discounts on BHW regularly. Visit http://www.ubotstudio.com/tutorials to see how the software works,http://wiki.ubotstudio.com to see the commands and examples, http://network.ubotstudio.com/forum to join the awesome community, andhttp://support.ubotstudio.com if you have any questions.

If you aren't sure which Edition to choose, you can always upgrade. Most users start with Professional, but you can do a LOT with Standard. Also - your purchase is for a lifetime license. There is no limit to how many bots you can compile or create and sell (and no additional cost to do it). There are also many plugins made by our community to add features available at http://network.ubotstudio.com/store.

Seth

I dont even know what these tools can do..... can you for example post yoir article to facebook, twitter, other social pages by click on a button? So it loggs in with specific password , username, than paste the article? Is that what this program is doing?

zennoposter is 90 bucks, ubot is 600 bucks, and people say zeno is better? WTF would anybody buy ubot?

zennoposter is 90 bucks, ubot is 600 bucks, and people say zeno is better? WTF would anybody buy ubot?

Probably the reason people buy UBot is it makes them back their money and more :) We have hundreds of successful customer stories all over the web. People also say UBot is better, in this very thread. And, your price comparison is invalid. UBot Studio Standard Edition is $295 and often on sale here at BHW, so a better comparison is more like $87 vs $195. UBot is generally agreed to be easier to use, and has fewer hidden costs. ZP costs to compile/sell software, per customer that you sell to, for example. UBot does that for free. ZP's $195 Edition has a limit of 5 threads - UBot's Pro and Dev Editions have no limit.

It's not a 1:1 comparison because each product and Edition/version has different features. The best comparison is to check out http://www.ubotstudio.com/features and http://zennolab.com/en/buy-it-now/version-comparison/ and then try to make sense of http://zennolab.com/en/products/zennoposter/features/.

A more important question is probably: what's your experience level and what do you need to do? When it comes to web automation, being able to accomplish your goals quickly and easily will matter far more in the long-run than whether you paid $150 or $250. You're here to make money, and if you know how to do that, then spending $100 more for the right product will be worth it.

Anyway, I wrote more extensively http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/zennoposter-vs-ubot-and-botchief-maybe.803114/#post-8426342, let me repeat that:

Comparing UBot Studio and ZP is like comparing a truck and a station wagon. They are both vehicles that can carry stuff, but otherwise they are very different.

1) There's a lot that we do differently from Zennoposter - but telling you the differences won't help much unless we know your plan. UBot is extraordinarily powerful and ALSO easy to use, and relies on some simple concepts that you can expand on to create a huge automation suite.

2) The real question is, what are you actually planning on automating? No one software is going to be perfect for anyone (although I'd argue UBot gives a LOT).

3) It's up to you. A lot of people have both. You shouldn't need both to begin and certainly not until you've mastered one.

PM me if you have more direct questions!

And, your price comparison is invalid.
seo4life is not a developer of one of the programs under discussion, and it is possible to make a mistake.
Let's take a look at your answer, whether it is a lot better?

UBot Studio Standard Edition is $295 and often on sale here at BHW, so a better comparison is more like $87 vs $195.
It's funny, you compare the sale price of your software with standard price of mine :)
More correct comparison should look like $ 87 vs $ 295, or $ 57 vs $ 195 since we have sale events with discounts several times a year too.
Error or malice?

UBot is generally agreed to be easier to use, and has fewer hidden costs. ZP costs to compile/sell software, per customer that you sell to, for example.
We do not hide the fact that there is a commission for each bot sale to users who does not have ZennoPoster license. You will see this information wherever topic about sales will be discussed: wiki or forum.
Let's talk about hidden fees in Ubot:
Your price list contains this info:
3 Months FREE Expert Support.
3 Months FREE Updates.
3 Months FREE Bot Bank Access.
What price will be after 3 months? Why it is hidden?
A lot of useful features in Ubot are done by paid plug-ins, prices are also hidden http://network.ubotstudio.com/store/product-category/plugins/

Speaking of secrecy.
Where users can download the demo version of Ubot?
You can always download ZennoPoster Demo, it's right there, on the product page of ZennoPoster, at the top with h2 tag :)
When I see the program without demo version, I always think that developers have something to hide.
Refund is good option. But many people are embarrassed to ask for refund, because it is in fact a conflict situation.
Many people are embarrassed to go to conflict. It is a psychological trap.
Give your users a demo version, if your software as good as you claim, you have absolutely nothing to fear, sales will increase for sure.

Completely agree, customers should always think about the future.
In the future, if you'll seriously work and master bots development, you will realize, that creation of big serious bots in Ubot is much harder than in ZennoPoster.
You will be told that you need to write code in a special text editor in Ubot, as do programmers.
And simple visual editor in Ubot would be unsuitable for larger bots.
Then you will know about crashes. Ubot and crashes - are synonyms. Most likely you will not notice this when you will create small bots, but as your bots grow, their execution will rarely reach the logical end.
You'll create topics on Ubot forum, on this friendly community, where, according to SethTurin, you are always welcome. Your posts will be deleted.
Just silently deleted. Ubot's forum has no negative feedback. And there will not be any :)

It's not a 1:1 comparison because each product and Edition/version has different features. The best comparison is to check out www.ubotstudio.com/site/features and http://zennolab.com/en/buy-it-now/version-comparison/ and then try to make sense of http://zennolab.com/en/products/zennoposter/features/.

It is not necessary to check our features page, it was not updated for years. Our clients can get all recent information from wiki and demo version always have all latest features.
Let me just say that you should not need any feature, which ZennoPoster doesn't have.
With Ubot you not have any problems too, even if there's no feature that you need, you will get explanation that this is only for the better http://network.ubotstudio.com/forum...ave-features-similar-to-these-of-zennoposter/

About bots sales:
SethTurin loves to talk about the possibility of selling bots without commissions with Ubot.
Cause there's no any other features to talk about :)
But! This feature is useful for less than 5% of customers who's looking for automation tools.
Let SethTurin show us at least 20 successful sellers of Ubot bots (their sites or sales topics on the forums).
After all, he has thousands of customers, if this feature is used by a lot of them, there will be many traces on the Internet.
Usage of that kind of features is impossible to hide. Cause it's logical end should be sales thread or site with compiled product.
I'm pretty sure there is tiny amount of successful stories. Is this feature is useful for major % of clients? No, I am absolutely sure.
Most clients use automation software for themselves. What means existence of this feature for other 95% of clients? Free competitors!
Later days in order to become your competitor in your niche, other user had to buy Ubot for $$$, at the moment he can spend $ on bot compiled buy Ubot user.
Other example: you've found interesting niche, someone from Ubot community get information about it too and instead of silent work and getting money from this niche he compiled bots for it and sell them for couple of bucks on warrior forum with ebook.
Seller of bot is satisfied, SethTurin too, and what about you?
Will you become successful seller of compiled bots? I don't think so since there are couple of succesfull sellers on Ubot forum already. And they were there for years.
Will you be able to cover Ubot Dev version cost ($ 400 difference between Dev and Pro) with your own bots sales? Will 30 days of moneyback period will be enough for you to realise that you're maybe not that good as bot seller?
I doubt.
We try to be honest here. That's why you can buy ZennoPoster Lite for 87$, create any bot and try to sell it to someone with 10$ fee. If you will understand that selling bot business didn't work, you will barely upset with this. Since you will still have 10$ on your internal balance and you can try to use automation software for yourself and for your own tasks and niches. That's what major part of clients do.

Where Ubot is a leader?
In black marketing, definitely.
You will not find demo of this software, you buy a pig in a poke.
On the official Ubot forum all the negative topics and reviews are deleted. (But you can read a lot here http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/ub...me-autopilot-tool-for-seo-more.439862/page-41 ).

I am not going to play the flame war game. This conversation isn’t interesting or useful to me or to any customers. It's true, UBot Studio isn't the cheapest solution out there. It's really the difference between buying a Ford or a Mercedes Benz. For many, a Ford Focus is exactly what they need. Others are willing to pay for quality.

We’re happy to offer refunds to anyone during their refund period (30 days) and are rarely asked for this. We wouldn’t be so successful if our customers weren’t also successful. We have many customer success stories - http://ubotstudio.us2.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=f38ff91642cc957f3369313dc&id=727cd115d0, or https://ubotstudio.com/site/ubot-studio-press-and-reviews/. http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/12/welcome-to-the-internet-of-thingies-615-of-web-traffic-is-not-human/282309/ is one we’re very proud of.

Seth

I am not going to play the flame war game.
No wars, Seth, you can lie about your software, embellish anything. This is your private matter.
But you can't lie about mine.
I just want you to understand - as soon as you lie about my software somewhere, I will come and tell the truth about yours :)

It's true, UBot Studio isn't the cheapest solution out there. It's really the difference between buying a Ford or a Mercedes Benz. For many, a Ford Focus is exactly what they need. Others are willing to pay for quality.
Mercedes, LOL :)
I see that you're a fan of cars.
Here is another comparison: Paint and Photoshop.
Paint is simple and a potential buyer for the first time look at it feel happiness - "I can draw smiles! By myself!"
And then he opens Photoshop and realizes that it's kinda harder to draw smiles there.
Mistake that people make here - they were originally looking for a program for image processing, and ended with feeling that they will be able to do this in Paint as easy as smiles drawings.
Mistake that you make - you pulled up the price for your Paint and think it will help him to become Mercedes :)

We’re happy to offer refunds to anyone during their refund period (30 days) and are rarely asked for this.
Well, it's just your word.
And, considering all your tricks and unsaid things this may vary.

We wouldn’t be so successful if our customers weren’t also successful.
Millions of fraudsters of all stripes applaud you.

We have many customer success stories - feel free to read some here
This is exactly what I call black marketing.
Rather than give us link to real success stories, you gave a link to subscription form. So you could send even more spam about your Paint.

or see our press coverage here.
These articles show how you spend your advertising budget, there are no happy customers behind them.
Black marketing is sooo black.

This piece in The Atlantic is one we’re very proud of.
The article announced facts like "there are tons of bots around" and "there is a program that can make bots"
And you try to bind theses two facts together but we both know that any posting, scraping tool provide bot traffic, any simple program that send GET/POST requests is bot too.
But you say that you are proud of it. Proud of what? :)
Do you think that users here are idiots, and all at once will start to think original Incapsula research is about your bots? :)))
You're naive black Overlord marketer :)

Your arguments are more and more irrational. I won't respond to any specific point you made because each point just sounded like a desperate attempt to bully your way back into relevance. Anyway, the information is out there, and people know which software they can trust.

Considering that I own licenses for both Ubot Dev, as well as the Zennoposter Pro license, I have a perspective as a customer that would be useful. I'll break down each of the programs based on the pro's and con's, and give a final opinion.

Zennoposter:

I've been a user of Zennoposter since Zennoposter 3. Zennoposter has come a LONG way from where it used to be. There are things that I feel should not have been taken out of Zennoposter 3 (I.E the macros), but that is more of a personal opinion, not so much an opinion on how well the software works, or the improvements that its made, and the improvements have been plentiful.

Zennoposter Pros:

Features - Out of the gate Zennoposter has a LOAD of features that come with the license. Whether you're a spamming black hat splogger, to a white hat content is king freak, Zennoposter has alot of features that will support both. All of the features are incredibly easy to find (left side bar), and are named in such a way that it makes recognizing what each feature is for very simple.

Learning Material - The Zennoposter team provides its users with a Wiki that goes over the main features of the software, as well as having some training material offered by the staff, and having 2 Skype groups. I really feel that the Wiki is great because it can clear up some things that would otherwise be a bit confusing. However I would like to see the instructions on each feature in the Wiki have a little bit better explanation and examples. I remember when “Bind To The File” was added, for a while nobody had any idea what it actually meant (we all do now). I think that if each feature was explained in the wiki with some practical explanation then that’d be pretty nice.

Functionality - Where Zennoposter shines is in its functionality and ease of use. I can whip up some fairly complex bots both quickly, and easily using Zennoposters unique Positive/Negative node system. Using this node system I can program my bots to have whatever logic I want it to have, without being restricted to any specific style of workflow.

GUI - The user interface of Zennoposter looks great (especially when compared to Zennoposter 3 lol). Again, the vernacular used with each feature makes it easy to know what each feature is for, and its pleasant to look at.

Support - I'd say the support is average. Not absolutely great, but it's gotten better over the years. There have been times where a bug was found and support flat out said something was just being done wrong (later to say its a bug), and there have been other times where the support has been very helpful and spot on. Considering the support is in a different time zone (Russia), you'll have to keep that, as well as a potential language barrier in mind, but aside from that like I said, the support is ok.

Zennoposter Cons:

Features - I would say the biggest cons fall under the department of commercialized bots. You have to pay for each of your customers to use your templates, sending them through an exhaustive process of signing up on Zennolab (and then having Zennolab email your customers with marketing material). This is something where Ubot shines (or at least is supposed to).

GUI - The Zennobox GUI is hideous lol. It looks like device manager tool. I think being able to have a customizable GUI on your bots would be a plus.

I’ve been a Ubot user for far less time than I’ve been a Zennoposter user, so obviously I’m better at one than the other. However, in my short time using Ubot i’ve learned how to re-do bots that i’ve created in Zennoposter, so now I can run them off of my VPS without having to have Zennoposter installed, which is a huge plus. I can now have my bots on all of my computers, vs. having them wherever Zennoposter is, so that is a big plus for Ubot.

Ubot Pros:

Features - Personally i've enjoyed the features that Ubot offers. In alot of ways they are very similar to that of Zennoposter (some are the exact same), so I had the benefit of cutting some time off of the learning curve. There are certain things that Ubot lacks when compared to Zennoposter (I.E an extensive http get/post feature set), but its not lacking alot. One of the things I like about Ubot that Zennoposter doesnt have is 3rd party plugins. Other users of Ubot can develop plugins for Ubot to bring in extra features it may not currently have (I.E Aymens Http Post and Bot-Factories Ex-Browser bring in the http get/post functionality).

Another major feature that needs to be mentioned is that in ubot you can compile and sell your bots. No selling project files and having people sign up at Ubot's website. You compile it, and send it to your customer directly.

Learning Material - Coming from Zennoposter I already understood the logic involved with creating a bot, I just needed to know how to do in ubot what I could already do in Zennoposter. Ubot has a Youtube channel, a Skype group, and a forum that provides material for you to learn from. Some of the Youtube videos are really good, and others are good, just extremely old. An updated set would be great. There are other training courses available, and i've found them to be hit or miss. There are some that are really good (IMAutoBots for example), where the instructor makes himself available to the people who pay for his training, and there are some that are terrible, where the instructors are monotone and insanely boring. Luckily where the videos lack, the forum and skype chat pick up the slack.

Functionality - This is something that I feel Zennoposter has a bit of an edge. Ubot is linear in the way that you create bots, where as in Zennoposter you can create your bots with whatever flow you want (will provide example pictures in another post). This I found to be hard to adjust to, but not impossible. I'm sure if I started out with Ubot first then it'd be a breeze. Other than that, Ubot is great. One of the things i like most about Ubot is that developers can share source code with one another. For example, if I created a bot that gathers data from Moz's API, and another developer had something similar, we could share each others source code with one another (pastebin), without having to send project files. In Zennoposter if you want to share something, you have to send a file. This may not be a big deal to some, but its definitely something worth mentioning.

GUI - The look of Ubot (the newest version at time of me posting this) looks really good. I've seen pictures of the GUI from older versions, and im definitely happy I got it when I did, vs. getting it back then lol.

Ubot Cons
:

Downtime - This is where I'd say Ubot is lacking MEGA BIG TIME. Over the course of the past month Ubot has been down at least 15-20 times (on average once a day). And when I say down, im talking EVERYTHING is down for several hours at a time. The licensing server, and even the Ubot website. This means no creating bots, no compiling bots, no going to the Ubot website to contact them about it being down, none of that. This happens almost daily EVERY single month, and the Ubot customer base is pissed about it. Its gotten to the point where the Ubot customers have even given suggestions on what Ubot could do to make sure that it doesnt keep happening. In my time using Ubot, I have yet to see this be addressed by the staff, nor have I seen them offer what they will do to provide a solution. It just gets swept under the rug. Considering the investment involved with getting the Developer edition of Ubot, something like this should be sorted out. I've never experienced that kind of downtime with Zennoposter.

Bugs - Ubot has been dubbed “UBug” by some users because of the bugs present in the software. Now as a developer, and software user myself, I understand that there will ALWAYS be bugs, that is not where my gripe stands. My gripe stands with the bug reporting system, as well as how quickly bugs are fixed. For example, Ubot has a separate site that customers are required to sign up for to report bugs. This is no problem, but what IS the problem is that staff members have to approve each account that signs up to report bugs. I signed up 2 months ago and have yet to have my account activated. Whats good about this site is that you can see how many people have reported a specific bug. You can also see WHEN the bug was reported (I.E not being able to copy and paste the contents of a list in debug mode). Some bugs that most definitely should be fixed because they play a big role in productivity have yet to be fixed, which is annoying. Can you create a work around for some of the bugs? Absolutely, but 3-4 months on certain bugs is just waaaaay too long of a wait.

Overall, you cant go wrong with either Zennoposter or Ubot. I think the most important thing is to know what you're getting into BEFORE you make the investment. Find someone that you can talk to who owns and has used BOTH, and then ask them questions because they have a unique perspective to offer.

Just like to chime in also.

As per my username, I obviously use Zennoposter but I hopped onto uBot as I'm thinking of selling executable bots to the public.

My experience with ZP is pretty positive, and I can't really complain - uptime is spot on, and the bots work as they should (ie virtually no crashes). The only downside is that if you're going to sell to the public, you'll need to pay a small fee for each bot.

uBot, on the other hand, has been really patchy. I've only been using this for a month. One issue is the downtime on both the licence and compiling server. This really screws up your workflow! The other issue is that uBot crashes during debugging and in the compiled bot way too often. If you want extra stability in uBot, then you'll need to fork out another $200 for Dan's ExBrowser plugin.

Which leads me to my next gripe - plugins. I've had to spend approx $300 - 500 extra for plugins that should come as standard in uBot. This isn't mentioned in Seths sale's pitch. Another issue is that reading/writing/deleting lines directly to a .txt file is a nightmare (compared to ZP). I've searched for hours looking up info on how to delete a url in a text file (after I've extracted it for use). This is a basic function that is sorely needed.

The bugs are so bad, that I'll most likely request my money back, and just go back to ZP.

Thank you for the positives you describe about UBot. We wanted to address your concerns, as they are very important.

The recent downtime you’re describing was a result of changes to our server which have been completed. We were adding redundancy for the server, which is now complete. We did discuss this on Skype. Please check last weekend :) Also, you can create bots and use UBot at any time - internet connectivity for a user is only required if you are logging into your software or compiling. But for running a created .exe, or running a bot, internet connectivity is technically not required.

I can happily show a graph here of the downtime, which was not daily. You’ll notice the big shift as we implemented redundancy last weekend.

This is no problem, but what IS the problem is that staff members have to approve each account that signs up to report bugs. I signed up 2 months ago and have yet to have my account activated.

There’s not currently anyone waiting on activation. Accounts are activated within 24-48 hours. Please let me know in a PM what account you’re referring to and I’ll get it updated for you. The only reason there’s a delay and an activation requirement is spam.

Most of the bugs that are on the tracker affect a very small minority - in fact, one or two users. I would not say that any currently listed play a big role in productivity. If there’s one that’s affecting your productivity, let me know. We do have to balance the needs of our larger user base. We do appreciate all additions to the tracker, and if bugs are reproducible given the reports in the tracker, we vow to fix them quickly.

Overall, you cant go wrong with either Zennoposter or Ubot. I think the most important thing is to know what you're getting into BEFORE you make the investment. Find someone that you can talk to who owns and has used BOTH, and then ask them questions because they have a unique perspective to offer.

And make sure to ask us - we are happy to discuss your needs and how UBot’s features will help you. Thank you for the reviews, Kepperbe.

Zennoblaster - As I mentioned, the server has been under maintenance which is complete. Dan’s exbrowser plugin is actually only $97 - and is in no way required to use UBot. If you can mention your specific stability issues, I’ll be happy to take a look. Can you send me a PM?

Seth,

My goal in my review of Zennoposter and Ubot was to be as transparent, and completely honest as possible. The truth is I enjoy both, and I think that both companies have done a stellar job trying to provide this kind of software to the public, which I can understand is an incredibly difficult task. Please take any and whatever criticisms I may have as something to make it better, not me bashing it.

With that being said, your comment on uptime isnt entirely true. Pasted below are some (of several) from the Ubot skype groups very own chat:

There are plenty more complaints of software uptime that stretch far back, before the more recent "fixes" you guys have been working on. Again, please dont take this as a complaint, or an attempt on my part to smear Ubot, because it is not. I like what Ubot has to offer, and I sincerely hope as a customer that Ubot continues to flourish and grow, however there are definitely some issues with support/uptime. If you're working on fixing it and making sure we dont suffer from downtime, then that is absolutely wonderful, just gives me more time to create things.

Seth,

With that being said, your comment on uptime isnt entirely true. Pasted below are some (of several) from the Ubot skype groups very own chat:

Kepperbes,

I appreciate your diligence and interest in improving the community of bot builders. What I've posted is the uptime of the server. What you've posted is a chat conversation with our most hardcore Dev users who are taking the software to the edge, frequently compiling multiple times per hour (or more) and loading multiple copies of UBot for testing. Both these are very rare, as you know. For reasons other than downtime, this behavior can occasionally result in errors. Given the lack of dates on these skype chats it's literally impossible to tell exactly what you intend to show. That being said, I know it is with good intentions.

I want to point out one more time that UBot is not a server. UBot Studio is a software product that resides on your computer. The only time UBot Studio contacts the UBot servers is for license check and during compiling. Most users do these things very infrequently, and so the vast majority of users have never experienced an issue - we've received less than 5 support tickets regarding downtime in the last year. However, we've worked diligently on behalf of these hardcore users to ensure that when they are compiling or loading the software they do not experience downtime in the future.

Please take a look at the chart I've posted and you will notice the significant shift in data transfer as the result of implementing server redundancy. And thank you again for sticking with UBot. It's clear that what we offer is the best option, even for our hardcore users.

Seth, there are alot of members in that chat that are regular non-dev users (I post in the chat daily). Yes there are Dev users present, but the group of 260 isnt entirely made up of Dev'ers. The reason I chose to post the images I did is because it shows different spans of time for when people post. The software is most frequently down between the hours of 9pm EST and 11am EST. To be clear, I am not accusing Ubot of being down for 10hrs a time, I am however saying that people most frequently suffer down time in between those hours. As for the dates, a quick ctrl+f will give the dates, but those images are from the past week. There were messages from earlier, but then i'd be posting more pictures than i'd like.

At the end of the day, I dont want this to turn into a debate about downtime. I, and everyone else in the Skype chat know how bad things have been, and if you say that a fix has been carried out, then that is absolutely wonderful, and i'd be happy to recant my previous statements.

I think we're on the same side here. We've been listening in the chat room and we've seen these same complaints. What I intended to show with my chart is that we took care of the problem. We're listening carefully for any rumblings or further issues people experience, just in case.
