What is up BHW?

Can I get a woop, woop?

No? Ok.

I see some new faces here as well as the old and beautiful.

Let me just take a moment to introduce myself, as a little reminder for myself and our newer members.

I originally came to BHW to learn as much as I could about digital marketing.

I learnt, I built, I broke stuff, I tested.

I had quite a few successful sales threads on here where I offered content writing.

I took some time away from the forum to upskill IRL. I realised this entrepreneur stuff isn't easy, I can see why soo many people fail.

I retrained as a software engineer. In the last two months, I also landed a job as a junior iOS engineer for a bank.

This has now taken a lot of weight of my mind, Thank god.

This week I landed a contract for UK fitness forum writing about 30 specialized articles. I already got paid for the first 10 which works out about £600.

They should take me a week to finish, bare in mind I should be coding during the day, however, since this whole pandemic thing I have really been fucked with my panic disorder.

The reason I am starting this journey?

Simple. I have a few projects on the go. I need to log my thoughts to help me concentrate. It is something which helped me greatly in my last journey.

What I am currently working on;

  • My full-time job as a software engineer takes priority.
  • Need to complete 10/30 articles for my side gig.
  • I have a Udemy course live, I need to finish my second course.
  • Add content to my Youtube and LinkedIn regular.

My Youtube will cover things from mental health to coding and entrepreneurship.

My LinkedIn is mainly just to build my network. I post random videos.

My second Udemy course will be a complete print-on-demand course.

You will also see my signature go back to blue very, very soon.

Update.

Article one is more or less complete. Article two should be done today.

I am awaiting delivery of my DJI Osmo Pocket so I can get some more recording done. My LinkedIn and Youtube are up and running with matching banners.

Good luck on your journey!
How did you learn to code? I've just started an online front end dev course.

Oh. I forgot to add, I got a tip from a guy (didn't realise what he actually gave away) about a pretty epic referral scheme. So I have also purchased a .org domain which is pretty much perfect to build an authority site in the niche.

I will be looking for writers for it soon.

Membership upgrade paid for.

Tasks for today.

1. Finish the second article.
2. Write some code.

If I get these two things complete, I will call it a successful day. As mentioned my panic disorder has been on overdrive so small steps make big changes.

Good luck on your journey!

Hi. Walsh.

I used a lot of online resources like Udemy, Freecodecamp, Codecademy etc. Then last October I enrolled in a software developer Bootcamp. Pretty much when I went AWOL of here.

I was studying at the Bootcamp and working weekends to keep a roof over my families heads. 7 days a week 16 hour days average.

I then managed to land the job.

This must be a really hard time for dealing with panic disorder. Just try to keep in mind that it will be over and we'll all look back on it as a learning experience. You've got a lot of energy and I wish you the best.

Best of luck in all your projects!

Is it the first time u are going to sell a course on Udemy or u done it before ??

It is. Although, I am better than most people and confident enough to speak about. So I have started to put out videos to help other people.

This will be my second course. I already have one live, which I will be giving away for free again soon to help people learn a new skill.

Haha!

Yeah, I forget sometimes I am still a baby in this game!

Anyway.

Cranked out two articles yesterday.

Completed another today.

I have my blog I need to start. This will either be rank and rent or selling leads. Either way I can see me dominating the niche in the UK and referrals for this could easily be four figures.

I will likely start that in a day or two. Aiming to complete another article today, I have started to post these to the customers' site and I can see them boosting their forum SEO hugely.

Well, this journey didn't get updated very long.

I finished the initial articles for the customer, he asked me to complete the rest. Halfway through them, aim to finish them by this weekend. $1200 in the bank.

I am launching a new BST on here for Youtube 4000 watch hours and geotargeted views. Once it is live, you will all know.

I am waiting on hopefully two writers from here, whom I trust, as I need around 20k words of content for the rank and rent site I am launching.

It is a mini authority site with a brand new .org domain.

I will do the keyword research on it later today. Map the articles.

That many words should be me as the authority site in the niche, most other websites in the top 10 are just pages.

I have heard directly from someone who works in the industry, his company buys leads from rank and renter for up to four figures. I aim to piss all over the current top 10.

If it works out well, I will approach the other websites on the top 10 and offer them SEO services for ££££ a month.

Going to be a busy month.

Oh, still working as a junior iOS dev. Working from home means I can get a little more work done quicker on my out of work interests.

Oh, I should add.

I found a little method to create Tiktok videos in under 20minutes. Quite easy. I launched a new account yesterday and made three videos. 65 likes and over a thousand views in less than 12 hours.

I will test it for a little longer, maybe a week then release it to the forum.

Update.

Almost finished the articles for the client. Last five left.

Finally sorted the website for my mini-authority site. Most of the content for this site is being outsourced.

I had an idea a while back for another mini-authority site I wanted to create. The niche is quite large but hella specific. I have direct experience in it and I am probably one of the only content writers in the world who can put that spin on the articles.

I see websites in the top 10 on Google with four-page websites and average content, the only issue is the niche is quite grey.

I think I may build a site on it, over the next six weeks crank out about 40k words of content on it. Fire some links to it and see how it fairs.

The most I will lose is time and the cost of the links.

Just did a quick count upon the grey hat niche. I have the framework for just over 100 articles. The average article being 1500 - 2000 words would put the site at around 150 - 200k words.

Tbh the articles are not exactly hard to write for me. Takes me around an hour to write one.

It could quickly become one of the biggest resources on the web.

Interested.

I will be honest, it is a great skill to know, too time-consuming, though.

I would rather outsource, but I know most writers are not worth the money.

The two writers I use here are busy as well.

To get the grey niche content done I will need to spare around ten hours a week. It will still take me around three-months to have around 100k words on the site, which thinking about it does make it worth it.

It is time I would rather spend elsewhere. lol.
