let's say i have rich dad poor dad audio file and make a video out of it. put free video clips, nice background and use the audio file. not the whole audio file, perhaps portion of it in a video.

is it allowed in YT? can you monetize such vids? will it be copyrighted?

There are guidelines on what duration of other people content you can use. Follow it and you will be safe.

Using the Rich Dad Poor Dad audio file in a YouTube video depends on copyright terms. Normally, you can't use copyrighted material without permission. Contact the author for permission. If allowed, follow the copyright terms, credit the author, and don't modify the file without permission.

Of course, it will be protected by copyright. If you're interested in that kind of content, perhaps you should consider creating concise summaries or extracts of such books, so to speak. I've come across such videos on YouTube, and they are popular, especially in the nonfiction genre.
