Hi,

i have got message from youtube that one of my video is "probably suitable for partnership program". It has got about 8k views in 6 days, few comments and 22 likes. It is a funny sport accident from south america i have downloaded from youtube. I have my watermark + my affiliate link in description.

Question: should i try to get accepted to this program? I am afraid if i do it, this video will be deleted, because YT says: "you must have worldwide distribution rights to everything in the video".

What do you think?
Thanks

Dont the video's have to be your own stuff?
Because I was going to ask a similar question, i have a channel with all my music on, youtube offered me the partnership with one of my videos, had done for like 6 months but i never bothered with it, but i decided to apply a few weeks back and now ive been accepted, i just have to link it with my adsense account, only thing, some of my videos are remakes, i have a Listen To Your Heart remix, which is a beat that my mate made but with the original hook on and me on the verses, it has like 140k views and im afraid that if im a proper partner they might remove it?
Anyone know if they will?

If you get caught they will remove it.
However they don't check all your videos one by one, they just bulk check by eye (and they search for ids that blocks some contents in your video such as music). They won't check the source of the video unless you are unlucky to fall on someone that knows where the original video comes from. Actually I know a lot of Youtubers that simply copy videos on YouTube and upload them then they spread out the video worldwide with what they have (social, pm in youtube and so on), and they become YouTuber partner on less than 1 day (1 day wtf ? yes 1 day that sounds impossible but it happens).

I dont understand it - they say that ONE video is popular and i can try to submit it to YT partnership program - so only this video will have ads or all videos from my account?

I always read that an account is YT partner, not just one single video...can someone clarify?

YouTube offers partnership for individual videos that have been successful or appear to have hopes of being successful on the viral turf even if a user's channel does not look like it has this same appeal or future. So to answer your question: They want to partner with you on that one specific video.

Also, you can always apply for your channel to be considered for partnership as a whole.

Traged, I would not allow the single video to become part of the partnership program. If they reject your video for revenue sharing, they automatically take it down, or so they claim.

Jonezy, it is VERY difficult to get music approved for revenue sharing... Sometimes even when it's your own?! scary, I know.

Hope this helps ! Let me know if you guys have any more questions :)

thanx mediaman,

i know they can take my video down. But do u have any experience with it? I mean, if i would try to apply for this program with this funny soccer video i have downloaded from internet, do you think they will rather remove it or accept it?

No problem buddy.

If it's a national game, remove it. If it's some lil kid stuff, they might keep it.

I had a video rejected from revenue sharing for the first time yesterday. I was pissed and waited all day for it to come down, but as of right now, it's still standing. I'll keep you posted.

So maybe they will not delete it? Then it would be worth to try for sure :) Please tell me if your video is still on or if it has been deleted...

Still standing. In their TOS though they SPECIFICALLY say if a video is rejected from revenue sharing, it will be removed from the site. Hmmz!
