YouTube's algorithm is designed to prioritise engagement, which means that once you start paying for ads, the platform recognizes that as part of your growth pattern. How does one break this spiral and cheat the YT algorithm.?

How do you know that? If youTube does that, then it can also easily recognize organic growth.

I know because I have experienced it personally. If you stop, your organic reach can take a hit because YouTube has already categorised your content as something that relies on paid promotion rather than organic discovery.

This happens because:
  1. Engagement vs. Pay-to-Play: The algorithm rewards content that keeps people on the platform longer. Paid promotions bring in viewers who may not engage as deeply, so once you stop paying, your organic engagement may not be enough to keep you in the algorithm’s favour.
  2. Diminished Organic Reach: YouTube sometimes limits the reach of content that has been boosted via ads because it assumes the creator will continue paying.
  3. Shifted Audience Signals: If your paid traffic isn’t truly interested in your content (i.e., they clicked due to an ad but didn’t engage), YouTube might misinterpret your audience and stop pushing your videos to the right viewers.
  4. Ad Dependence Trap: Once you start paying, your analytics get skewed. If you stop advertising, the sudden drop in traffic can make your videos seem "less relevant" to the algorithm.

Then I guess, you should try to build your organic growth on the sideline while still doing ads on smaller budget?

How are you gonna get a correct answer from someone here, since the people behind that algorithm are a team that works for YouTube changing it on a regular basis? There is information in your creator's studio to tell you about the algorithm and past video catchups from YouTube, and that is fairly shown for everyone.

YouTube rewards authentic engagement, but improving organic reach can be done through optimizing watch time, click-through rates, and audience retention. What kind of content are you creating?

Keep it simple. I found someone's video that performed very well on YT.

I took the main scene and reason viewers came for, and speed it up just a little, and put it back on YT.

Used new no warm up account, because I warm some, and that has no point.

Video blew up with views, and every new account with the same video is doing the same.

No thumbnail, nothing too fancy, solid spam of description, no tags needed.

Do not repeat keywords, that's for idiots. Youtube will recognize every keyword, one time is enough.

Percent of repeated keywords will be only considered as spam and lower your visibility.

How any algorithm works? It gives you some low attention, because algorithm itself is not super smart to understand who you are and what you do, even if you do EVERYTHING to describe yourself. AI won't believe you, which is normal.

IF your content receives any kind of attention, dislike, comment, volume up down, checking later video parts, that all counts as positive.

Now imagine a user clicking a [new] YT video and he sees right away what he came for? That itself is enough for YT to know your video is the ONE. Because user will at least watch the whole video. That's why it's good to keep it short and on point.

I just provided the very accurate/correct answer for free.

Your answer I would class as working the algorithm, not "cheating" the algo, which he wanted. Nobody apart from the programmers knows how to "cheat" their algo, as its fluid and dynamic and being worked on regularly. You have better chance of knocking on my door in the next 10 mins and delivering me a pizza without me ever telling you my address) Think of my address as the unknown algo lol If I don't share it with you, I ain't getting no pizza? :)

That's not the case for everyone. You have this problem because of how your new subscribers / users interact with your content.

I don't tink ads change your personal algo like that and it too much work to create a algorith for every situation I believe that should be something more general because is too focused and specific and means like there should be like 5 or 10 different algorithm in how people interact with those ads, seems to much.

I gave the exact answer how any algorithm work.

He can use ads on alt accounts and redirect traffic to his main channel.

Many things can be done with this simple knowledge.

Anybody is free to test. Upload 60sec of interesting content to brand new channel that is just created, and with a little bit of good title and main keywords in description that video is getting views instantly organic.

This is not even cheating, it's using brain.

OP 'cheat' meant, I just want to know how it works. To know, you don't need to be a hacker, cheat and etc.

You need to have some brain cells, and to be willing to put some work.

Every single thing can be split tested, and learned to the core within hours/days.

Just use multiple accounts, do legit stuff (do not hurt any terms) buy ads, buy aged accounts, buy aged with views accounts, buy everything you can afford and make as much testing as possible. Put as much logic and common sense in it, and it's solved.

You learn how things work for you/your niche. Adapt, shift, change, no rocket science.

Even if you decide not to use your brain, you can simply mimic/copy your niche competitors and do everything as same as they do.

If you are not able to have their editing/content skills, buy it, do not buy ads ffs. Buy content, content is king. Lmao.

Alright good luck, this is enough.

If you have already try can we speak about that in private ?

I see your message and and I totally agree with you.

You can’t really “cheat” YouTube’s algorithm, but you can definitely outsmart it. If your channel’s been riding the wave of ad-driven growth, the algorithm’s basically trained to expect you to keep shelling out for paid traffic. To break that cycle, you’ve gotta reprogram how it sees your channel. Start cranking out content that keeps people watching and engaging, stuff that’s just too good to click away from. Push your top videos without relying on ads, using SEO, community posts, and collabs instead. Focus on boosting your average watch time, click-through rate, and that sweet subscriber count. As those organic signals stack up, the algorithm will finally start pushing your content because it’s good, not because you paid for it.
