I was looking into making a few youtube videos for each of my blogs. Aside from creating accounts for each blog what do you guys think is best as far as linking goes.

Should I utilize the videos in the blog posts and link between the two?

OR

Should I just link from the youtube video to the site like a normal tier 1 link.

What is your goal?
Putting videos on your blog is going to rise the time spent on your blog. Uploading videos just on YouTube could get you some traffic. If your only target is SEO you should not waste your time with YouTube.

Any traffic coming from youtube is purely a bonus. I am more interested in using youtube and videos as SEO for the blog. Making a video for me won't take long at all so that doesn't bother me.

Anyone else have some ideas?

I have created an authority content website with a large amount of youtube integration. I made it as a test to compare it to a similar website without youtube integration to see if there is any SEO value... long story short... no SEO value but if you do it right you can turn youtube into a traffic source to your website.

There are examples of people making dozens videos and getting millions of subscribers. There are also many examples of people making hundreds of videos and getting dozens of subscribers... guess which group you want to be in.

My advice to new youtubers is to base your ideas on proven formats. And most important is that your intros should be 10 seconds or less... Nothing makes me leave a video faster than a LOOOONNNNNNGGGGG intro. Those long intros make me want to avoid all your other videos too.

Sounds good. I might give this a try with one of my sites and see what happens. Thank for the feedback!

With YouTube, create a Brand Account. This will keep all of your channels linked together. If you're using something like WordPress for your blogs, I'd suggest using the same email address for each installation to link your websites together. If you don't want to make multiple websites, consider creating sub-domains for each of your channels.
