Hello,
So recently i started doing these askreddit videos because i was looking at some youtube channels that started doing these like a month ago from nothing and BOOM their first videos got like 100k 500k and so on views.
So i did the same thing, quality is the same and I put the best keywords, (got their keywords from the source), Used youtube autocomplete and so on and days later i still have no views.
Could anyone drop me a bit of advice here, what did i do wrong?
I wasnt expecting 100s thousands of views anyways, like 5k would have been fine but i got like 20.
i even followed the youtube seo guide
Im a bit confused.

Can you show one example? Are you sure that the other guy's video views were all organic and they didnt boost them with fake views for ranking?

Sure, For example a channel named "Reddit Viral" started a month ago and the second video they have uploaded has over 100k views. And If you search on Youtube "AskReddit" The channel named "Toadfilms" is always on top. Different day with different video but they seem to be up there quite alot. I viewed the source code and they have some good tags on the video. I tried to put similar ones to my video and got nothing. Also their desc doesnt almost contain any keywords.

Sure, that might be the case BUT if you take the top 10 askreddit channels that come up. Most of them have like 5k subs, started a month ago and have good couple of first videos.

Something doesn't seem right to me. I think they have another source of views, like its not only natural. Like they share the video somewhere. I am going to check one of these videos and see if they are shared on reddit or somewhere else.

One thing I noticed thats different between their videos and mine is that my video does not exceed the 10minute mark. Might that be the case?

YT likes 10minute vids (more ad space)

You should give it a try. Also, try to post your videos in Reddit, in relevant subreddits, and get some upvotes from the pannels in the marketplace here in BHW, that might do the trick too

would buying views for the first video be reasonable? can it boost the channel?

Well, I don't see any reason why not to. It might seem like a viral effect. But then again, with the new updates going on in yt is hard to find a good views provider
 
They might be buying upvotes on Reddit, but you need to try to grind out like 1000 subs and get monetization so you can increase your CTR on your subs and then get it recommended to other people.
 
The boost you mentioned (500k) doesn't seem to be organic. The video must have a potential traffic source other than search results and Reddit itself. Really interested to see someone dig this up

For example this channel named "reddit & chill" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMKvJ1qZWQfrO6t6inUGYPQ/videos?view=0&sort=da&flow=grid
Their third video posted is 2 months old. 750k views.
 
Their days are numbered on youtube. Most of them are using robot voice. What amazes me is youtube has the gall to monetise these useless channels yet genuine hardworking people who actually put efforts into their videos are getting demonetised or not even monetised. It baffles the mind. Just goes to show you youtube has no real integrity, they are fickle and fake, and only about money.

YT highly prefers 10min+ videos. That is the reason why every youtuber stratches the video ober 10min even if they have only content for 2 min.

The Views of that other one Guy must not be real and organic. It Doesn't Event make Sense How could someone be boosted like this.
