Is this safe? I don't see how youtube could detect the views as being unnatural. Seems like an easy way to give your videos real hr views? Wouldn't this also bypass the whole stuck at 300 views thing?

The view count does not matter when trying to rank the video.
It will transcribe the video's audio and images. Meaning if they do not match up the the keywords it will not have a solid foundation to rank for multiple years.
Once you have real video, then you want to make sure that the text is not stuffed.
After that is finished, us a mass pinger to get it ranking,
then over the next few days type in the keyword phrase that you are trying to rank for on the home page of google.
then navigate back as many pages as it takes to find the video.
Once you find the video click it, to watch it. This will tell google that you had to go to page XX to find something that you liked/looking for.
Once you click on it, watch the video all the way through. hit the "view more" tab to see all the description of the video. This will tell the robots you wanted to know more. Once the video is finished hit subscribe, thumbs up, comment on the videos and then share the video using the share feature button icons of the first 5 social sites.
Then on day two login with another gmail account. and repleat the same process.
This is increasing social signals and telling google that they need to favor your video.
