Would it be possible to make a some profit by setting up a wordpress blog which content mostly consists of youtube videos of a specific niche? And then of course monetize it by adsense ads and affiliate programs..

Could it work? Anyone have any experiences?

video content will surely work since it lessens the stress of reading, its more interactive and yields longer attention span

i dont think using youtube videos would be good
host your own video and use fancy/web2.0 players
it will look more decent and professional

Go and find some wordpress themes like tv.elements. (They're here on the forum somewhere) makes a video WP blog look a billion times better.

but you'll likely have issues getting into the SERPs if it's all video and no text

That's true so you want to make sure that the little text you do have is all keyworded. And encourage your visitors to comment on the videos. (spark discussions off yourself if you have to) and that will also help.
