Youtube transcripts for SEO - how about it?

Do YouTube transcripts are Youtube unique content? I was thinking of starting a blog reposting the video transcripts but I'm not sure if this would be good for SEO.

Perhaps this would be simple syndication?

I believe they would be unique content. However, the original uploader would still have the copyright, so be careful about what you advertize there.

So you plan on using the voice recognition thing in YT to get flawed content, or you planning on using someone to transcribe it/ transcribe it yourself?

video transcripts work well when they are your own video and your readers really appreciate them as I do on Matthew Woodward`s blog.

A great way is to transcribe the video then note down the important points and give your own opinion then give a link to the video. This way you would be providing useful information and a review on important points with your own experience.

I once created an CMS site that enabled people to signup and post articles that they transcribed from youtube videos. They all needed editing, but the content passed copyscape and I resold the content to associated content.
