Hey guys.

Do we get copyrighted for use of google images (With modifications) for thumbnails in Youtube?
Anyone had experience getting copyright strikes on thumbnails?

Further, if someone does want to claim, they won't be able to claim via Youtube?
I read somewhere they have to personally contact to takedown.

If thumbnails are hosted by Youtube, the copyright claim will go to Youtube.

If you use any image from Google, make sure it's not copyrighted and still, make sure fair use is in place. Submitting copyright takedowns for youtube videos / thumbnails is not hard. Anyone can submit a takedown on youtube.

Many images on the Google search are copyrighted. They are made professionally and have usage rights associated with them. You cannot use them without permission because doing so will invite a legal penalty.

not just a claim you can get a strike too if you are not careful.
happened to me
someone once striked me for my thumbnail
