The sub count for my channel is 267.

I sat and counted my list. Indeed more then 267. Does it have to do with accounts being private or maybe the accounts were deleted but they still show on my list just not the stat sheet ?

My subscribers are always changing, some accounts die off, etc, just ignore it and keep growing.

That's normal!
a lot of gmail accounts get deleted or deactivated everyday!
