hi guys. Just a quick question

How do you move up in rank for a selected keyword in youtube?

I know its abit of a noobish question but I have not used youtube for marketing for a few years.

Does it go on views? will backlinks help (If so, I have scrapebox :D )? or is there some sort of on page seo involved?

Thanks in advance

One factor I would say is that when people search for a keyword and click your video.

When enough people will do this, your video maybe gets a higher ranking.

yeah its based on a number of things, one thing however it does not do is have anything to do with your tags you set it in the begining.

The tag field is about a s useful as the meta keyword tag at Google. - Pointless.

Your main thing is to put your main keyword at start of the title and in descrition

And try and push a good early amount of visitors to it in its first 48 hours

Thats about 60% of making it rank quite high for the keyword

It can gradually move up the rankings but not as drastically as say if it was in google.

Its more based on what the guy above me put

i have to disagree with the articles.

They all are not very helpful and some actually say things which are outdated by at least a year

Well, I posted like that only after reading those three articles. They are not outdated ;)

From my expirience, direct video title matters greatly... in others words, don't phrase something weird...

e.g.

instead of naming a video "ate I today food"

name the video "I ate food today" instead.

That may sound stupid, but if you word something oddly, even though you might have all the right search terms, it can kill you. Music is a genre in which this is critical.

The next major thing I would say it social networking shares and actual youtube user interaction of the video.

views / likes/ comments, probably in that order
its weird though, i got a video up and in 4 days it got to the first page for a keyword that is highly competitive. 200k+ U.S. searches a month, most videos on the first page range from 200k views - 1m+... and my video is sitting there with 1200 views.

i gotta look into it further but after some sites back linked it, the traffic shot up.

im guessin some back links to quality sites will help
