YouTube SEO Rivalry - (HELP)

Hello friends. I have a question, I'll keep it as easy and short as possible for you. Now, when I searched YouTube with the keyword, I normally came up first, but a new video was shared with the same keyword and unfortunately it ranked above my video. The question is: What caused this rival video to appear above me?

I have more subscribers than him.
The video got more comments than him
I have more videos than that on the channel.
The only difference is very few likes. HE IS AHEAD OF ME.

How can this man rank above me?
How can I get above it?

YouTube's algorithm takes into account multiple factors like watch time, user engagement, and video quality, not just likes or subscribers, to outrank him, optimize these aspects and consider updating your video metadata.

People prefer his video. Play with thumbnails.

his thumbnail is very bad. The new video appeared first as soon as it was posted, so I do not assume factors such as likes and cr rate or audience retention. I think YouTube recommends it before me because the video is new. I hope it will decrease over time. Any other advice for moving up?

YouTube can keep randomizing the search results order to give everyone a chance to get some traffic. its not always exactly as everyone answers here. a lot has changed since the early days of YouTube.
just because you have more subs, better watch time and engagement, does not mean you will be guaranteed some kind of permanent slot on the top of "search results" for long periods.

Also keep in mind that competitors have several blackhat SEO and botting tactics to outrank others, just like in the case of sites that rank on google search.

So many factors that can affect this. Thumbnail, SEO, external traffic, etc… just do your best and move on. This doesn’t mean your video will always be behind his give it time.
