YouTube Ranking Still Working?

Hey Guys, I've seen many posts here on BHW saying the Ranking YouTube videos doesn't work any more. But I've got 3-4 of my videos in top 200 videos of a country. The Playlist "Popular on YouTube". Does this also work with Keywords? I am able to get Retention Views with pretty good retention 90-100%, how to put them to use? Any suggestions?
PS: Earnings on the videos were quite low. Like $20-$30, didn't even recover what I invested for traffic.
