YouTube ranking algo change?

Hey guys,

A month or so ago, when I uploaded a video and sent ~20k views to the video, it would rank in top positions for its keywords after a few days. However, I recently uploaded a video for an unsaturated niche and sent 20k views to it, I was tracking its positions and it jumped to around ~#100 after 2 days, then dropped off the face of earth. This has never happened before, does anyone know why the hell this happened?

Views were high retention, sent 2hours after the upload of video, all views were received within 48hours.

As far as I know the algorithm hasn't changed.
However, there have recently been crackdowns on major views providers such as u2bviews and vagex..
Where did you purchase your views?

Not that I'm aware of. My views were sent a week after ordering (slowed service) but perhaps that was good, my video's still live and ranking.
But it was already #9 without views so SEO plays an equal role.

Hmm alright, I guess I shouldnt send 20k views within few hours of upload haha

I'd done that with far more views and while it lasted a week or more, it eventually got found out.
Don't be slow of course - but don't rush things either. Real people don't suddenly know your video exists & Youtube knows that. Keep it natural "looking".

Yeah I used to send views to my videos as soon as it is uploaded and it ranks very well, dont know why the same isnt happening this time around

Were all views direct linking to your YouTube video?
YouTube is a part of Google, hence it may have been started to check whether people views your video from the YouTube search too !

Unfortunately after several days sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for the video rankings to improve, nothing has happened. Video's ranking has been blasted to oblivion. I still have no idea what happened, but will get to the bottom of it...hopefully.
