Hello,
I have 21 videos and only 38 subcribers (first video got like 5k views, only the first video) and i want to ask, it is normal this thing? I only post shorts (happy videos niche). Any advice, thank you!!

unless shorts go viral they either get 0 or upto 200 views

Yes that's normal you will need to churn out a ton of shorts to get any substantial subscriber or view counts.

getting 5k views on a video is still a good indication that your channel is picking up and can enter the suggestions algo soon. So be consistent with the uploads. Also check if the thumbnail of your shorts is kind of like clickbait or not. You can search in google, how to add thumbnails for youtube shorts.

You have started out well with your shorts. No, it is not uncommon to have a small number of subscribers compared to your total number of video views; more so, you have only 21 videos and mostly post shorts. To grow your YouTube channel, though, just be consistent with your shorts and create a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience coming back.

YouTube Performance can vary depending on many factors. The first video to receive 5K views is a positive start. Making short videos can save time and appeal to viewers with short attention spans, but it can also reduce the value of your videos. There are millions of videos on YouTube, and it's hard to get the attention of viewers. So don't give up and keep improving yourself.

It is normal to struggle for views and subscribers initially. The craft of making good videos will also come as you keep making more videos. So do not give up, keep improving the video quality.
