youtube promote button

Can someone please explain to me the promote button.
I seen it next to one of my videos one day then it disappeared.
How does youtube determine what videos are eligible?

That's for running ads on your videos.

Usually, you become a member of their partnership program and are paid through adsense essentially. By clicking promote you agree that the content is yours, not copyrighted by anyone, and you are ready to make money off of it. Assuming of course you market it correctly and get it viral.

so my add has been serving for 2 days with no impressions is this normal?

Actually, it's not.

Consider some points described below. Perhaps, these are the causes of the issue:

- when creating an ad, make sure the thumbnail description and ad copy reflect the nature of your video.
- make sure to target the right keywords for promotion. Remember, like paid search, you can select between broad, phrase, exact or negative match types for the keywords you use for the promoted video.
- make sure you target the right audience to display the promoted video to.
- create a Call To Action overlay.
- and the major point is: YouTube visitors are looking just for video content, so make sure your promoted video will be appealing and intersting to viewers.
