I have a question that might seem silly.. It’s about youtube SEO. Since ranking depends on factors like content quality and domain authority (in theory), a yt video page with a great description should rank high. However, yt pages don’t seem to appear that often in google search results.
Why is that?
Is it possible to optimize a video in the same way as a regular website - through content in the description, video tags, title, and SEO services from bhw?

As compared to Instagram, tags on YouTube play zero role in SEO. Add all the keywords in the description. Adding links to description somehow affects ranking in a bad way

Not a silly question at all! YouTube SEO works a bit differently from regular website SEO. While titles, descriptions, and tags help, Google tends to prioritize web pages over YouTube links in search results unless the video is super relevant. Also, engagement (watch time, likes, comments) plays a huge role in ranking on YouTube itself. So, optimizing your video is important, but boosting engagement is just as crucial.

Google’s kinda biased—it often pushes regular web pages over YouTube links unless your video is exactly what someone’s searching for. And also...YouTube’s algorithm is all about that engagement life—watch time, likes, comments, the whole vibe. So even if your description is A1, if people bounce after 10 seconds, you’re not gonna rank. Focus on making content that slaps from the first second and keeps ‘em glued
 
Yeah most of the tips told by the other members are true, also keep in mind that you can use promotional methods to rank in Google like Google seo services and all, you will find it in the marketplace

I have seen yt pages on Google. It depends on keyword being searched, if there are terms like video there , it will show YouTube pages also.
 
Most important think, must ctr, quality and not long description, 1-2 hastag is enough, more hastag and long description doing spam generally.
 
I guess CTR + Retention rate are more relevant than tags or spammy descriptions
 
It could just be that the keywords you're trying rank for are just super competitive.

You'll probably show up somewhere on the video section of Google search.

Obviously that makes sense since YouTube is owned by Google.
