Is it okay to embed the video on youtube on your content? I mean, you don't own the video, it's other people's video. Is this some sort of violation?

If you didn't steal and upload a video to your own YouTube account but simply embed an existing YT video within your content then there is nothing wrong with that. The video is not hosted by you and you can surround it with whatever type of site content you want.

There is a reason why there is an embed option on YouTube.

No not anymore, only from youtube page facebook and some other site (I am not sure)

this was added a few weeks back

i belive you tube did a big update so this no longer works now.....

Wait a second. Squidoo lets you embed videos on their pages and they still work. I have a few and just checked them and they still work.
