Hello, i wanted to ask you guys something. I'm trying to make a news video. For the content, i'm finding articles on the same story by different news sites (3 or 4) and taking bits and pieces from each. I'm also editing some of the text myself (not much though). Slapping it on premiere pro and making a video with background music. Will i get copyright claimed for this? or any other kind of trouble? Can i monetize these videos? I'm not using any pictures or videos or music from the articles. Thankyou!

Seems fine.. just add an voice commentary if possible.

I think there is no issue with copyright. Just make some changes in content/article

You'll get copyright claims on any material that isn't covered under "fair use" laws

Check out H3H3 when he was sued over copyright claims. He won in court over fair use, and now he wins every YouTube claim with court docs

A blessin dressed up as a stressin

I'm pretty sure news is a difficult thing to copyright because there's really only so many ways a real story can be told, and it's usually very fact driven. I think you'll be fine.

If you just copy-paste the text, I think it is possible (although not very likely) that you’ll have some issues. As long as you edit your content properly, you shouldn’t have any problems. If you want to be 100% sure, use tools such as Copyscape to check the content.
