I have been researching everything there is to know about YouTube and I thought I would share a list of monetization methods. I hope you find some which you haven't come across before. Also, this list has given me courage many times to continue the long and tiring YouTube Journey, since I take comfort in knowing that there are many other approaches to channels I can take using any one of the monetization methods listed below:

Whitehat (Legal Methods of Monetization):
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • YouTube Partner Program (Google AdSense)
  • Ecommerce/ Dropshipping
  • Brand Deals/ Sponsored Content
  • Create an Online Course
  • Consulting/ Coaching Services (also you can do a Mastermind/ Workshop Group)
  • YouTube Channel or YouTube Shorts growth service
  • YouTube Monetization/Branding Service
  • Dropservicing/SMMA
  • Make YouTube content about blogs/websites/businesses
  • Premium Content (Patreon)
  • Email List
  • Create a Website (Could be informational, membership or forum)
  • Start a Podcast
  • Make sponsored videos
  • Create a phone app
  • Create and grow a channel and sell it
  • Onlyfans
  • Merchandise Shelf
  • Community Tab
  • Shittier Methods (these pay significantly less)
    • Channel Membership
    • Super chat and super stickies
Blackhat (Illegal Methods of Monetization):
  • CPA and Content Locking
  • YouTube Comment Advertisement Method
  • Content Claim Method

In general, unless from the beginning you have a clear idea of how to monetize a channel, in the end it is probably not profitable to spend your time on everything else unless you have some good knowledge of something and have something to offer.

What's this one:
  • YouTube Comment Advertisement Method
This is the Youtube Comment Method. This involves commenting on videos uploaded by big YouTubers and pumping your comment with likes to get it to top comment. For example, I have seen someone create an outstanding sob story of how they lost weight on the comments of popular weight loss channels in YouTube and tbh even I almost fell for it, until I realised he was advertising his website.

Also, in the Mr Beast videos there is an impersonator who advertises to viewers that they have won something and i'm guessing he makes them sign up to CPA offer.

Could you please elaborate on why CPA is illegal? I never did the CPA thing; thank you for your time. :)

from my minimal experience and from what I heard, smm services can work a tad bit

I worded it wrong, its against YouTube Community Guidelines meaning that you will get your account banned or may even get your IP blacklisted.

Where are you pulling this info from? I can't find it in YT policies.

Can you elaborate further on this? Thanks for the post :)
Yeah sure, I have seen it on a few BHW and not bothered to research it further since it is not something that I am interested in. It involves claiming unreleased songs on a music distribution platform such as DistroKid. Then the song enters the YT Content ID System and once you upload your video with the song in it, then you get paid for the Ads that are shown on the video. This has much lower payout than YPP. Also, it is blackhat since you don't actually own the song and you try and claim it as yours and many people have been banned by Distrokid and not been paid.
