I dont know how he does it, but I am actually watching a guy streaming a Minnesota - Washington NBA game on youtube ... http://take.ms/2WPIl

How is that even possible considering how strict YT is about copyright?

Well I expected to be able to disagree with you. It turns out you are absolutely correct, and he has a very low latency almost literally keeping up with the live play of the game. It's only off by less than 10-20 seconds. Wowser.

These guys aren't making money from the livestream though. Most of these guys either are trying to promote other websites or social media accounts on these livestreams or ask for donations.

Easy: it works for a while and then, they invariably get banned.

Yeah I tried it my self you get banned when there is too many people watching or youtube copyright detection system checks for copyright material on your livestreams.Even the youtube copyright by pass trick doesnt work on livestreams.
