To build backlinks for youtube videos ...

Should we use https or http

For example - https://www.youtube or http://www.youtube

All Youtube videos and URLs default to https:// without any exception. So, it makes more sense to use the https version for building the backlinks.

Youtube videos are with https url
So you should always use https not http

It doesn't matter that much actually as the http redirects to https flawlessly.

Go for https though.
