I found tubebuddy to be very useful for me. I am still looking for real time or based on recent google searches keyword ideas.

did you use vidiq ? If yes, why choose tubebuddy over vidiq ?

I'm using VidIQ. It's very helpfull also in the free version. For the keyword reserch VidIQ u've to pay the subscription plan.

Keywords everywhere the Google Chrome plugin looks to have potential haven't bought it yet though but gives in line stats per platform and it's cheap

I would recommend vidIQ i personally have good experience with it. Regarding selecting niche it is better to select low-competitive niche or something completely new that also have potential to grow in future,
