does anyone knows a tool in doing youtube keyword research, level of competion of keyword and avg. searches per month

Instal VidiQ chrome extension at first, it will give you isnight in various data about videos, including keywords used for any video.

Now, when it comes to volume, I don’t think there’s data only for YouTube but searches on Google in general.

VidIQ is a good tool to start with.

Regarding search volume, YouTube does not provide this data so the volume that keyword research tools show you is either Google search volume or Google volume with their own formula which uses other data to give you their own estimate. Neither option will be accurate, you'll never know the exact volume. However, you can have a rough idea by looking at Google volume and the amount of views ranking videos for the keywords have.

It's possible to make your own estimates on keyword competition simply and without software by looking at the ranking videos metrics, amount of new videos being uploaded targetting the keyword, age of the top ranking videos (older videos are typically easier to outrank then newer videos), amount of high authority channels that are ranking well (these can be more difficult to outrank then videos from small channels), etc. All the info you need to determine ranking difficulty for the most part can be found on the first page of YouTube search results :)

Good luck, @incomesurfer!

I'd third VidIQ even the free version gives loads of handy info and it's pretty neat integration into your standard YT page so you can see as you are watching
