Yes i think there is something wrong . on first 2 week i was making 2$ per 1k views then when i joined my network partner i noticed a huge drop down on my monetized views . Basically i was making more money with low views than now.

i made a youtube channel about gangster teddy bears, if anyone wants to collobarate or can tell me how to make money on youtube, i can tell you how to make money on ebay without stealth accounts and all that with legit colognes. i get around 1,000-2k views avideo.
 
YouTube's been mediocre for a long time now. They only seem to care about the channels that really rack in the views and subscribers. Not to mention their totally broken copyright system....
 
Youtube isn't crap. It's the best invention after fire, the wheel and Google. Youtube isn't intended to make people money, it's there to offer video content to their users. If people make money with it, it's a nice side-effect and motivates people to upload attractive video's. What makes Youtube look crappy is the mediocre crap-content that's daily uploaded by people (spammers) who want to make money from Youtube and don't want to put effort in creating outstanding video's. If you want to make money on Youtube then create superb video's which are worth viewing.

IN addition to AdSense, try adding Amazon or Clickbank products in your description with an annotation overlay pointing to it.

Building a list is also another option, but try sticking to products relevant to your audience.
 
maybe your video was crap. Peace! :). I have one video earning $2 or more for aprox. 2k views.

My CPM used to be 10$. I left YT because of other projects, but YT is the one of the best sites to make people, if you know what are you doing ofc.
