YOUTUBE GOT HACKED!!!

there is a youtube channel called "top electric" (one of those cashcow channels)
when you search their channel you can see their channel and their videos
but when you click on their channel it redirects you to some other RUSSIAN channel!!
then i noticed their username is topelectric1 so i typed it but it redirects to topelectric

i don't understand why it keeps redirecting??

can this be replicated?

Idk why it don't redirect me. Are u sure it's not an issue with your laptop or mobile

no way? i tried a different browser and it still redirects!

when you go to www.youtube.com/topelectric1/videos it doesn't redirect you to www.youtube.com/topelectric/videos
??
i'm gonna upload a video for proof! i tried different browser chrome as guest and it still redirects???? and why only that channle redirects and other don't??

It does redirect to a russian channel that has 14 subscribers but it dosen't do it when u click on the channel from the search

Thats not some redirection hack. Thats the new "@username" system in place. Some Russian dude bought the @TopElectric, took over this @topelectric1 channel by some old hacks, and now has his channel there.

yes it doesn't redirect when you DIRECTLY click on it from search result.
but when you open in a new tab then it does

its not a hack its probably a glitch from youtube side, its happening for some of the channel name!
and this thing is happening for like a month or 2 but the quantity is so low that no one has encountered it!

Thats prolly because the cashcow channel is either on some sort of shadowban that disables the "type-in" traffic. (So, somebody at Google saw that this cashcow's direct url was being spammed a lot so they decided to redirect it to some other channel)

Or there's a bug in YouTube's channel endpoint that strips numbers away from the usernames. The only difference between the 2 channels is that the Russian channel has @TopElectric and the og channel is @TopElectric1

YouTube prolly thinks the Russian channel is the OG one so everytime you type youtube.com/@TopElectric1, it takes you to youtube.com/@TopElectric instead.

Does anyone here know other channels that have both their numbered and numberless alts?

Like if username of one channel is @xyz, the other channel's username should be @XYZ1 or @XYZ2 etc. Does anyone know channels like this?

yeah that's what i thought. but if this can be replicated it could be genius since i can make channel called @MrBeast1 and redirect all his traffic haha
