Youtube for views or for CPI?

I have 2 methods on my mind but I only want to execute one.

One of them will most probably gain lots and lots of views because it is targeted at such an audience, the plan would be to make money just from YT ads.

The other method is just fake promises leading to a CPI locker...

I'm asking because youtube has been having these weird algorithm and demonetization stuff going on and I'm worried it might be harder to earn than with just forcing a locker into peoples faces...

I would go for method one. If you got some money to invest use Google ads to drive traffic for YouTube ads.

I hate people that use method 2, annoying AF.

Well If you are into a good niche then Method 1 is best always but if you want to make quick and good money then method 2 is best if you can cope up with the trending things and juice them up.

While I would suggest to always go with method 1 since method 2 is like BS and after some time you might feel they are not worth.
