Youtube eliminates the commercially inviable among us

Youtube has used a phrase straight out of the movie Falling Down (with Michael Douglas).

From their terms of use:

YouTube may terminate your access, or your Google account’s access to all or part of the Service if YouTube believes, in its sole discretion, that provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable.

In the movie, Michael Douglas' character falls out of luck and is fired because he's no longer "commercially viable". As he sees his life crumble before his eyes, he turns violent and goes on a rampage. Trying to meet his family at the end he gets shot by pretending to shoot using a toy gun.

In the near future we'll have Google killer robots collecting anyone who's no longer commercially viable.

I suspect a lot of present day Google slaves will get eliminated in future commercially viable sweeps.

Get off the Google fanboy club while you can.

Well that escalated quickly.

Where would you suggest current YouTube video creators turn to? Especially if they don't want to become talking billboards selling too many products for affiliate money?

So, I shouldn't start a youtube channel and go where?
 
What about all the Youtubers who really on patreon & other services for their income & don't show ads?
Aren't they no longer commercially viable for youtube?

You're on the right track there.

Commercially viable means you make YT money. Otherwise get collected by their killer robots.

My 7 years old youtube where i had videos showcasing my services was taken down yesterday. This thread is reality.
 
Time we publishers took a stand and stopped visiting YouTube, and ran an online campaign against them this is absolutely nonsense from their end
 
Skynet is setting up FEMA camps in the year 2020 for the Youtubers that don't make money. :D

Maybe it's not because of this? Check again.
 
YouTube, Facebook etc. had their peak for content creators from 2010 to 2015. I remember in 2010 I just made a YT channel, registered with adsense and started monetizing my videos right away.

Now they are messing with content creators because they got the traffic and therefore power. What makes it more ridiculous is how YT increased the ads so much, but at the same time decreased the payout. Whats that? Its like a double punch in the face

In my opinion they are slowly destroying themselves. I don't think in 5 years people will still go to YouTube to watch streams or videos. Don't believe it? Check what happened to Facebook within the last two years. So many users gone. I don't use them anymore as well. I click on a cat video and what happens next is all my timeline is full of cat videos. I click on a picture of a sports team and then my timeline gets flooded with old posts/videos of this team etc.


For normal viewers YT might be great, for content creators its like capitalist dictatorship

They are in fact already taking action and even the smallest issue results in a ban.
In my case it was a video where a Fiverr guy was explaining about one of my Web Design services - from 4 years ago, i added a new link in the description and they took the channel down saying i can not sell services i have no rights over. Web design service.
