Youtube Doubts

Hello guys,

I am thinking on starting a youtube channel.
My initial idea was to make top 10 videos. But I just found out that I can't use gameplay from other people because that's not monetizable.
I can't also use trailers from the game itself. Nothing.

But,

I see a lot of top 10 channels on youtube and they have gameplays and footage from the game itself and have tons of views. And I'm pretty sure those channels are monetized.

Anyone that is into youtube can give me a little of enlightenment here ?

Or maybe there's something here I am missing out ?
Is there any other good way to create top 10 meaningful videos ?

Content ranging from 20-30 gets unnoticed often. I've seen them work with compilation niche.

what do you mean with 20-30 ?

I mean, watchmojo is monetized and in every single video they use footage that is not theirs. How are they able to do that ?

Usually they either get permission, use the video to attract subscribers and not make money, or they keep the clips shorter than 5 seconds which generally will not get picked up for copyright.

There are ways around the copyright issue, if you voice over with your own voice and do like a commentary or crack jokes even,
remove any music they are using and use royalty music you can get from youtube but never use any copyrighted music the algo loves that and will nail you quick.
Some ppl say you can use 10 second clips or 8 second clips, you pretty much can use an entire video right off of youtube as long as you voice over it, remove the music, you can even take clips from Tiktok remove the music and voice over or put free music on it bam got yourself a copyright free video. Now movie trailers same thing unique commentary, not all are policed like crazy, some ppl use them even though they are copyrighted just to showcase their channel.

If it's under fair use, it should be fine. Also, I heard some MCNs can help you with that.

you can upload other videos from other people if you ask permission.
