Youtube decline Monetization

Recently, I came across one YouTube channel getting millions of views from shorts and had 5k subscribers. When he applied for monetization, it was rejected. The channel was showing videos of a specific games, no face show and no voice but just playing games.

Can anyone help me to understand how YouTube accept channels for monetization?

Hi,

There are certain kinds of videos that youtube considers as low effort or low quality and one of them is "plain videos with no transformational value" , for example the channel your talking about, just playing games and uploading without any commentary, vo, original scripts etc.

Youtube monetization 99% works when there is creator presence in the video. Like showing your face, doesn't mean that faceless channels don't ger approved, it just need to be of value, that is add a script, add a voice over, don't run a slideshow.

How do you know , he waa rejected ? Is he your friend and did he show you the message from youtube ?

He talked and shown rejection email in a Youtube video and stopped posting more. Later, he deleted the channel.
 
What about the shorts were only straight gameplay no editing no effort just gameplay cut every 60 seconds and uploaded or maybe higlights of something really interesting like tip and tricks, sniping long distances, 1 vs 4
 
I guess he would be accepted if he showed his face and talk during the video, or at least if he used an AI voice to add content to it
 
YouTube’s monetization process involves multiple factors, and rejection can happen for various reasons, such as copyright issues, content originality, or low audience engagement.

There was editing and engagements
 
It also can be cause YouTube flags the content for duplicate
