Are YouTube dances common when trying to rank your videos....I had a video on page 1 on Youtube yesterday and today (after gig was completed) it is now on page 2 after adding comments/likes/subscribers/views....Does this "dropped rank" mean YouTube is re-evaluating my video and will rank it higher, or did it penalize my video for some reason?

As other members suggested above, it would be too early to come to a conclusion.
Dances are not just with Google search but Youtube as well since Google owns them both.
Just wait for few days and you could come up with a better ranking than before or else if you stay at the same position, that could be a penalty then.

Thanks for the responses guys, it can just be so aggravating when you finally feel like you are making progress, getting a good amount of hops one day and then the next going to 0 hops and barely any views...I guess I just have to wait it out and hope for the best...I have such a love/hate relationship with YouTube marketing!
