Hello everyone! I'm hoping some of you might have the answer. I've been trying to get my new YouTube ad up and running, but I've run into a problem. It keeps getting rejected for clickbait. The thing is, I have the very same ad with the same description already running. Has Google updated their policy recently that I'm not aware of? Any ideas?

It's not they they updated their policy as they're just inconsistent with their sensitivity.

If an old ad doesn't comply with new policies it would've been rejected too.

Assuming it is in a white niche, did you try appealing it?

Yeah i did. And I lost it. There is very limited to almost no information regarding youtube clickbait anywhere on the web. Feel happy that my old ad is up and running but not sure what to do going forward since by the looks of it it triggers some sort of algo

As much as it sounds stupid, if you have an option to "consult a Google Ads professional" from your account, it might be your best bet, unless you want to appeal again and explain why you think they are wrong.

Avoid mentioning the old ad.

your title needs to match the content. you can make it clickbaity, just don't lie in the title.

bad title: Find Out Who Killed JFK

good title: These JFK Documents Blow The Doors Wide Open

while the bad title seems like it'd be great, you can't prove what you're saying because you can't prove who killed JFK. so it's going to get reported by viewers with buyer's remorse (err, clicker's remorse).

the good title, on the other hand, only mentions documents (which you need to at least mention on your landing page) but doesn't reveal what the documents say. you want the audience to wonder what these documents are all about, not an answer you don't have to a question you could have avoided in the first place.

don't make promises you can't keep and your clickbait should be fine.
